Advertised as a luxury boutique hotel, this little inn has mostly plusses, but also some glaring cons. The location is perfect - you can walk everywhere. The owners/management are delightful and friendly. The room is perfectly adequate, and the beds are great. The bathroom was outdated and small, but clean. Our television set was a relic of another era, but we did not come to St. Simons to watch television so that was not a problem.
The biggest disappointment to me was the qualify of some things - the towels and washcloths are not what I expect in a "luxury" hotel, the toiletries provided looked as though they came from the local Dollar Tree - and I have never been in a hotel where the lotion provided was a large bottle, two-thirds full and of an unknown brand. I don't drink coffee, but I heard other guests mention that the coffee provided in the room was old and stale and very bad-tasting. On Saturday, our room was not cleaned until very late - again, not a real problem for us, but could be for some people.
I see other reviews that complain about the breakfast provided, and it is a bit skimpy, but was perfectly adequate for my needs. The lack of any type protein and a fruit option other than bananas stood out, however,
In short, a very quaint little inn, great location, pleasant people - just a few things they could/should do to bump the general quality up a bit. (just my opinion, of course!)
