“Excellent service with a great location but small king studios.”
Reviewed 1 July 2011

The staff was wonderful!
The room was small for a King studio. It reminded me of a motel 8 room- just better curtains, linens and carpet. If you want a bigger room you will have to reserve a larger room- even it is only for two, it is worth it. You can't beat the location! Right across from the Sky Rail and perfect to avoid the laser show traffic. Just walk back. The pool was nice and there were child size chess and checkers to play on the pool deck. I mean the pieces were as tall as a 8 year old! Very
cool. I must say Derrick was great at the front desk and made sure my accommodations were met. The
breakfast package was worth the extra $10. If your staying in the park food is expensive and it helped to fill up on good food in the morning. Tennis shoes are needed for the trails ad top of the mountain. There are plenty of trails for bikers and runners! It's a beautiful place and everyone who works there wants you to enjoy your stay. Thanks Stone Mountain for the nice memories! We will be back!

We are happy to see you enjoyed your visit to Stone Mountain Park and your time staying with us. As you are now aware we have two very distinct room types/sizes - our deluxe oversized rooms and our much smaller studio kings. It is always best to book as far in advance as possible to be able to be guaranteed our larger room. We are looking forward to you staying with us in the future and if their is anything we might assist you with please contact the hotel directly and we will do our best to accomodate you. Thank you for choosing Marriott and have a great day!

The location is awesome! we walked to the laser show in 4 minutes. The rooms are HUGE. Ours had a porch with rocking chairs which was a great addition when the power was out due to a storm!

The hotel is right across the street from the sky lift parking lot and right down the road is the carllion.

My room was attatched to other rooms by doors. The neighbors on both sides we LOUD. so bring some ear plugs if you want to sleep in late!

Stayed here with a friend during Atlantafest In June 2011. The room was huge and the beds were so comfortable. There was a small fridge in the room which was great to be able to have our drinks and food handy. It is right across from Stone Mountain Skyride and very easy to find in the park. Really nice people working there and the grounds were beautiful. The pool in the courtyard was very nice and there was a large chess set and checkers set on the grounds right beside the pool which you don't see many places. It's hard to believe how nice this place was. It's an older property but you won't be able to tell because everything is in great condition. They have some special offers and discounts so be sure to ask about that. The other really nice thing is that the rooms have porches or balconies with rocking chairs so you can enjoy the views of the mountain or courtyard. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu looked good and you can get breakfast included in the cost if you want. The wi-fi costs a little but there is a computer just off the lobby (with a printer) which is free and I never had to wait to use it.

Stayed here for 4 nights and went to Stone Mtn. Park everyday. Staff was friendly overall with a few exceptions. Restaurant on site was only open on weekends for breakfast. HUGE rooms and pretty setting around the hotel. Had one experience with a bug (ewww) and found the outside cover of our air conditioning unit had been pulled off leaving a small hole in the wall. Covered it with a towel and that seemed to take care of the problem.
Internet access was $12.95 a day and long distance calls $1.00 per minute!

After a long day traveling by car, it was a treat to find such a large room waiting at the Stone Mountain Inn. The pool wasn't open, but the courtyard was beginning to get its spring color and it was lovely to sit back and rock on the patio during the evening. We redeemed reward certificates for this Category 4 property, so I feel a little bad offering "criticism," but it was odd that with all the space, there was no full length mirror; also, a door to the vanity area would have been nice. What other reviewers describe as out of date, I would describe as charming and very "Southern" looking with the understated elegance of properties built in the 1960s. We were only visiting a short while and did not use the restaurant, which was only serving breakfast, therefore cannot comment on service overall; front desk was warm and hospitable. Nice Bath and Body Works amenities. Location was amazing -- right across from the park! We'd never been to Stone Mountain, and the experience was a nice surprise.

My family & I had a 3-day weekend at Stone Mountain Inn. In a word-- it was wonderful! The hotel, the food, the service, the VIEWS were awesome! I freuqent hotels/resorts all over the country quite often. I was a little dismayed by some of the reviews I saw. Once I got there I was totally pleased. Rooms are large and the comfortable bed literally put me to sleep. As a traveler, I know what to look for in service & accommodations. I rec'd all this & some at this hotel! The adventure of the park and the environment is unmatched. Certainly there's an eighteenth century ambience about the hotel. Some may say it looks "old," but its the intentional ambience of the place. Probably needs carpet or wallpaper replaced in some areas, but overall, its a great place to both relax, be adventurous, and to experience one of the wonders of the world.

Reception was too good and they provided all the help that we needed. Room had everything that we needed. Me and my enjoyed the 3 day stay very much. Breakfast was good and they had many varieties for vegeterian and non-vegeterian.
