We discovered this place in spring 2013 during a week of paragliding training, and we are now back home after our fourth visit in 4 months of time(!)
Being real foodies we eat in many different restaurants from self service to Michelin star, but the Pré Verel is really unique... Imagine a wooden refuge, remotely located in the mountains, breathtaking view, wonderful fresh food, good wines and a welcoming, warm and friendly staff. Each day they serve a good three course menu for a very reasonable price, but at least once you must try their speciality: Agnus beef. A huge block of carefully selected and matured meat is salted, spiced and grilled by chef Evan over charcoal in the open fireplace of the dining room before it is cut and served with delicious gratin Dauphinois. What a difference with the tasteless watery meat we find in today's supermarkets. Be sure though to leave a small space in your belly for one of their special deserts of which the ingredients unfortunately are a well kept secret. The Pré Verel team are producing pure magic day after day, so It is no surprise that the place is fully booked most of the time. Don't forget to make a reservation!
