We were staying with friends near Annecy who suggested we might like to go to lunch in a local restaurant. The weather was not too good so we could wile away an hour or two waiting for the sun to shine. How lucky we were to be taken to the Refuge! The delightful owner/chef Evan produced for us one of the best meals we have eaten. The ingredients were all local and the quality sublime - and at the end, we were pleasantly surprised by the the cost. It was excellent value for money. We have have paid much more for meals in fashionable London restaurants which came nowhere near in terms of quality and enjoyment. All in all, tremendous food, lovely staff and a super venue. We will definitely go again when we are in the area!
