My bride (of 24 years) and I had a most enjoyable stay at Tybee Island Inn. The location, the staff, and the feel of this place make the inn stand out. We spent four days enjoying biking, walking, visiting Savannah, and loving our time away. Thanks to Gary and Julie and the rest of the staff for their hospitality.

Wow!! This was our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast. The home was very beautiful and well maintained. The garden as you enter was beautiful. Julie and Gary were the best. They ensured that we had everything we needed. Gary prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning. They both were very familiar with the island and were able to provide suggested activities and restaurants that were awesome. Upon returning each afternoon from our ventures around town, a fresh baked cake or pie, coffee and tea were waiting. We had a wonderful two days as their guest and were treated like royalty. Gary and Julie, thanks for such a wonderful time. We will definitely be back!!!

Thanks, The Anderson's (1/25-26)

Our stay at Tybee Island Inn was very relaxing and enjoyable. The grounds, with the large and overwhelming oaks and the abundance of hanging moss, were a step back in time and only added to our experience. The breakfast, served and prepared by Gary and Julie, was a daily nice surprise. Our four day stay was an experience not likely forgotten and to be repeated again. Lloyd was very gracious and made sure that everyone was enjoying their time and provided a vivid history to the area.

Our first exp. with B&B, and it was wonderful.
Gary is the greatest asset there. He was so helpful and provided us with a great breakfast both days. The Inn is very quaint. We loved our stay there and would definitely go back again. The weather was perfect for walking down to the beach and touring the city of Savannah. We loved Uncle Bubbas grilled oysters. Liked coming home to the Inn and being able to make tea and enjoy one of Gary's delicious desserts in the evening.

Room Tip: We were upstairs and not bothered by people coming and going downstairs. Choose your room carefully...

I had seen a deal for this B&B on Groupon. We had visited Savannah several times but every time we wanted to go out to Tybee there seemed to be a downpour. With the inviting pictures and reveiws, I decided this was our chance to explore Tybee Island.
The pictures on line are so true! Entering from the courtyard, moss covered oak trees you feel like you are visiting a favorite relative. The porch and wonderful swing set you in the mood for relaxation. We were warmly greeted by the staff who showed us around and then helped take our bags upstairs to the Dolphin room. The stairs are high and quite steep so anyone with mobility problems would not want this room. It was like staying in a furnished attic room -very nice one though. The room is done in whie and blue with many dolphin decorations. There is a door that leads out to a small private porch with a table and 2 chairs. It was cool and quite windy the 2 days we were there so we didn't make full use of this area. The room has a wicker king bed,TV and plenty of storage space. The long narrow hallway leads to a narrow bathroom with a tub/shower combo. My only complaint(minor) is the only electrical plug in the bathroom is behind the door and I'm not sure a curling iron cord would stretch from there to the mirror. As you can guess I wasn't concerned enough to find out. (The inn provides hair dryers but you get them from the pantry...they are not in the room). The sheets on the bed are really soft and comfortable. The mattress was a little softer than I like but that is just personal preference. It did not keep me from an enjoyable night's sleep. We slept with our porch door open and could hear the waves crashing -probably not something you could do in the summer months with mosquitoes.
Breakfast was served at 9 which I loved since I like to sleep in. Both mornings there was a different egg casserole with fruit, orange juice and one morning had smoked sausage pieces. The coffee is good and the staff does an excellant job of keeping your cup full.
We enjoyed being able to walk the island and enjoyed the lighthouse and the beach walks. We had planned eating at Uncle Bubba's and I had a coupon for Moon River brewery so we did not try any of the local places on the island. Our breakfast mates had tried several including a pizza place and said they were well pleased. So the next time we will stay on the island.
Use the front porch and the swing! Both make your stay so relaxing. Nice vacation spot and welcoming staff.

Room Tip: Be sure to read the room descriptions on their website. Not all rooms would be for all people. We ha...

Had a really nice time at this B&B. Julie was extremely accommodating and the breakfasts both days were very good. Spent the day in Savannah and had dinner at Uncle Bubbas. Fabulous shrimp and grits. The first room we were in was next to the pantry and kitchen and was very narrow with a corner shower which was very small. Also the bathroom for one of the downstairs rooms backed up to our bedroom. When I mentioned the extremely early start of the people downstairs we were offered another room. The Lighthouse room on the 2nd floor was great. Would definitely recommend the upstairs rooms.

This Bed and Breakfast Inn was awesome. We love to travel with our little dog and they had a pet friendly room with an outside fenced in area near the room. That is the first time we had seen anything like that at a bed and breakfast. Thank YOU. The owner, Lloyd, was friendly and likable and he had hired some of the BEST staff. Gary is a very creative cook and Julie was terrific as well. We felt very comfortable and at home with them and the other guests. Tybee Island has a very clean beach area and we walked everywhere we wanted to go. There is a dog park right down from the Inn which was very good for those quick walks in the chilly mornings. This is the BEST place to stay. We will be back again.
