“Great location”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

We've been staying at a townhouse north of the pier for about 10 years. The beach is great, but as others have said, bring your own entertainment. Bocci and cornhole were our entertainment of choice this year, as well as bikes. We were close enough to downtown, yet far enough away, and you really only want to go downtown 1 day.
There is a bit of trash/debris on the beach, more so after yahoo's have their own fireworks display. It gives me something to do, walk the beach and pick up other peoples junk. Don't get me wrong, it's small stuff, like small plastic straw cocktail stirrers.
The beach also has it's share of wildlife. A few years ago, a sea turtle laid eggs right in front of our townhouse. It was cool to see them relocated higher in the dunes.
Yo will need to pay for parking.

“Great beach but dull”
Reviewed 6 August 2013 via mobile

Nice beach but not a lot to do. Bring your friends and your own activities and you'll have a feast! Unfortunately not a lot of places to have lunch or to dine. Good stay for a party of youngsters ;)

“beach area, know your do's and dont's”
Reviewed 10 July 2013

the Tybee beach is not the gulf of mexico you may be used too! with that being said, its rougher, sand is much stickier lots more shells to walk on that hurt your feet! I suggest crocs and keep them on! sadly after paying lots to park for the day and struggling to find parking after you pay you will walk a longggg way to get to beach shore be prepared. take a canopy or umbrella or you will be very very sorry, its hot sand will get into every single orfice and then there are no convenient areas to wash off sand. this is the kicker. i expect all the rest of the above stuff for a day at the beach but then to not have a shower or hose at the crossovers is just cruel esp for what is charged for parking for tourist. just be prepared and i would suggest bringing a 2 liter of water from hotel to wash feet hands and burnt kids as you will not find it anywhere along the beach areas!!

“Fantastic beach”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

It was a great time. The beach has a lot of soft sand that kids love. The sound of the waves and the people all around you laughing, really helps create an old fashioned day at the beach. A lot of old, old stores. You will enjoy yourself if you're a beach person.
