“January at the beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2014

We spent a week at the North Beach area of Tybee. We were a short beach walk to the Lighthouse area, museum, and North Beach Grill. It was quiet all over the island in January, and especially so at North Beach. Great shelling, I could ride my bike at low tide. The walk and bike ride along the streets in the area were just as pleasant. I loved the Fort Screven historical area with its bed and breakfasts and restored cottages. The American Legion is up this way, too (check out their monthly dinners--the fish fry was great!). I don't know about the swimming in the summer--there were signs advising of underwater hazards while we were there. The north end was my favorite part of the beach, though.

It was great fun riding bicycles all the way from the North Beach to the South Beach. Note: no dogs allowed.

“Quiet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

Perfect for shelling and for playing in the sand. When the tide is out, there is a perfect sandy beach. High up on the beach there is a perfect line of shells left from high tide. Not a lot of traffic on the north side. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying the family.

“Love that North Beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2013

I love North Beach because it is not as "touristy" as South side of Island.
The Lighthouse, although the museum is small, is part of the ambiance of island living; and North Beach Grill is the best "on beach" restaurant....great food and drinks. It would be my weekly or daily place ot visit if I lived on Tybee.

“Serene scene”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2013

I love this beach for it's calm feeling- less people usually gather here- and in the evenings it is very quiet- I enjoy the more wild ( less inhabited) feeling with the water hitting the jetty- and the lighthouse behind me , picturesque against the sky. ( i have several photos from this very spot!) There is also a great little restaurant there right on the beach ( North Beach Grill) that has good food and a great vibe.. Take a walk on North Beach- It soothes that mind and soul.
