“Less crowded and peaceful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014

This is a much better idea for a day trip than the regular Tybee beach area. A naturalists dream, there's plenty of wild life to see while treking along the somewhat rocky areas of the coast. Perfect for families and anyone wanting to avoid the crowds down the road at Tybee beach.

“Nice beach”

The non-commercial end of Tybee but does have the North Beach Bar and Grill for some snacks and/exceptional meals.

“If only I had the money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2014

Guess I should have married that rich guy when I had the chance. No, Tybee isn't glamorous. It's just nice enough though, and that N. Beach is special. Dunes? Check. Cool sea birds in formation hanging out? Check.

“Wonderful Place To Watch The World Go By”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014

We rented a home on North Tybee Beach and had a wonderful and relaxing time. The beach is not as popular as the South Tybee Beach but that is good for us bird watchers. We loved to be able to walk the beaches and watch huge ships come up and down the Savannah River and to look for rare birds among the huge flocks of shorebirds found on this secluded beach.

“January at the beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2014

We spent a week at the North Beach area of Tybee. We were a short beach walk to the Lighthouse area, museum, and North Beach Grill. It was quiet all over the island in January, and especially so at North Beach. Great shelling, I could ride my bike at low tide. The walk and bike ride along the streets in the area were just as pleasant. I loved the Fort Screven historical area with its bed and breakfasts and restored cottages. The American Legion is up this way, too (check out their monthly dinners--the fish fry was great!). I don't know about the swimming in the summer--there were signs advising of underwater hazards while we were there. The north end was my favorite part of the beach, though.
