Description: The Crab Shack isn't just a restaurant, it's a destination! We seat more than 700 guests and offer both indoor and outdoor dining options. Both dining rooms and our outdoor dining deck offer picturesque views of Chimney Creek. Both the young and young-at-heart will enjoy our interactive, educational "Gator Lagoon" which is home to 78 baby alligators; our aviary which is home to more than a dozen rescued exotic birds, and our "Gift Shack". The Crab Shack offers traditional Low Country fare, including fresh streamed and boiled seafood and slow-cooked BBQ. We also have a kid's menu available with burgers, hot dogs, and pizza. The Crab Shack is and always has been a family owned business, and recently began shipping our entrees in ready-to-be-cooked kits through LoCo To Go. Stop by and experience all we have to offer for yourself!

“Best place on the island , for sure”
Reviewed 12 May 2014 via mobile

We had the pulled pork sandwich and ribs, both were delicious. The waitress, Casey was fantastic. Food was great, very satisfied, we will go again next time we're on the island. I loved the cats wondering around the tables.

“Unique Eating Experience”
Reviewed 10 May 2014 via mobile

The Crab Shack is a little off the beaten path of Tybee Island which makes it even better. The shack stew is excellent. We ate lunch and the crowd was not too bad, we were in and out in less than an hour. Great view over the intercostal and great food!

“Outdoor eating!”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

You could eat in or out but this is an outdoor atmosphere so if you don't like bugs and alligators, I wouldn't suggest it! We all had something different here, I had the barbeque and it was good, others had the She crab soup, shrimp salad, and it was good just not our favorite.

“Stuffed.”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

We were fortunate to visit this place early on a weekday morning, as apparently on many days there is a line around the block. Go for the food, not the ambiance! Omelettes are huge and fabulous, and be sure to get their grits: plenteous and buttery! Excellent bacon and ham.

“Strange but fun”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

We all loved the Crab Shack's open-air seating right on the salt marsh. It is apparently ALWAYS CROWDED, but we did not have to wait long to be seated. Waitress Desiree was wonderfully attentive and the food was fantastic. I had the Low-Country Boil -- excellent corn-on-the-cob, shrimp and potatoes. I'm not a huge sausage fan, so I shared those with my compadres. Weather was great first week of May -- big fans outside kept away any mosquitoes there might have been, and though I was fearful we might be bitten, we were not! You get to toss your shrimp hulls and trash into a hole in the center of the table, which was nice as they do not pile up. Do not miss this place! You can even take your dogs if they are well-behaved. The Crab Shack fosters many cats, though - be aware.
