“Fun, funky, friendly, fantastic!”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

We found this hotel online when we decided to take a last minute overnight trip to Tybee. The website showed that there was a multiple night requirement, but when we called we found that is not the case in the offseason and booked just one night with no problem. We knew from the website that there are many "themed" rooms, but didn't ask for specific room. The clerk asked if we wanted a room with a hot tub and quoted us a good price (in our opinion) so we booked it.

When we arrived, check in was very easy and then we were given something we hadn't seen in a long time. A room key. Not a swipe card, but an actual key with a tag that had a room number! Some people may prefer the convenience of a card, but I actually thought it was kind of neat to get a key in this day and age. Since all of Tybee is paid parking only, the clerk told us where we could park for free on the hotel property as well as another nearby lot owned by them as well. As it turned out, this was never an issue. We parked right outside of our room and never got back in our vehicle until it was time to leave.

The room that we got was the Rainforest Room. It was decorated really well and there was a nice two person hot tub in the room surrounded by mirrors, bamboo and other rainforest themed decorations. There was some evidence of wear and age to the hotel and the room itself (the cover to the AC was being held on by duct tape), but overall it was really clean and seemed to be very well maintained. The decorations that we saw in around the exterior had a fun quirky quality about them. This made the stay more enjoyable because of the charm of the place and the fact that it wasn't "just another hotel".

We never needed to drive anywhere during our time there because we found plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping and of course the beach within a very easy walk of the hotel property. When it was time to check out, the manager (Kay) was very friendly and asked us if we had any more plans before leaving Tybee. We told her that we were going to get some brunch and do some shopping. Not only did she advise us on a wonderful place to eat brunch, she also told us to feel free to leave our vehicle parked at the hotel until we were ready to leave Tybee so that we wouldn't have to pay for public park. This was after we had already checked out. We are definitely looking forward to future visits at the Atlantis Inn to check out the other themed rooms and enjoy the great atmosphere and fantastic location!

My husband and I found this lovely place last Friday and it was perfect. It was walking distance to & from places we ventured to. We stayed in the private quarters & it was very affordable, quiet & clean! The staff was very helpful, courteous & hospitable. They gave us a tour of the themed rooms which were beautifully designed. We will definitely be coming back to experience one of them very soon. It definitely was a great experience... Most out of town stay aren't as lucky... Loved it!

our trip to this hotel october 18 through 20 was so wonderful, we just had to stay an extra night and left the 21st! the staff is wonderful, the prices are great, our room (captains quarters) was fantastic and the service was excellent. this is where i will stay every time i go to tybee island from now on! it is close to everything you could need on your beach trip - only a block from the shops and restaraunts and a couple of blocks from the beach. could not ask for a better place to stay. Kay is a spectacular manager every single time we stay. love this place!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and were very pleased! We really liked the themed rooms and ended up staying in Sunset Bay (it's really pretty! the walls are all painted to look like you are ON the beach!) This hotel is within walking distance of the beach and boardwalk which we found really convenient.
The room was smaller than I imagined from viewing the photos on their website and I do wish that they had mentioned that there is a smoking area directly outside of our room. Overall we really did enjoy our stay though! the room was clean and the staff were really helpful with directions and information about the island.
I would love to stay there again :)

Room Tip: each room has a different theme so each room looks different than the others. Sunset Bay and Rainfo...

We stumbled upon this small hotel with free parking and only two blocks from the beach and near the pier, restaurants and shopping. October 18 - 19 and only one night, but our "Private Quarters" room was clean, quiet and perfect for our stay. Since it was off season, our rate was fantastic. Comfortable bed and kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and granite wet bar.. Blair was most courteous, professional and most helpful. The other rooms looked interesting (each one is decorated differently and some of them have full kitchens). Thanks for a great timeWe'll be back! VJF

This was our first stay at the Atlantis Inn on Tybee Island and we absolutely loved the service, the rates, and our "Endless Summer" beach themed room with a heart-shaped hot tub. The room was cozy and quiet, and the location of the Inn is in perfect walking distance to the beach, fabulous restaurants, and gift shops. Kay the manager, and all the friendly staff, made our stay a one-of-a kind experience. We even asked if we could stay one more night in our room if it was available and it was, which made our trip even more special. My boyfriend proposed to me on the beach during our stay and it was absolutely amazing and a very happy and memorable experience. We will definitely being staying at the Atlantis Inn again because we like the ambience and the "laid back" feel. If you are looking for a high end, fancy place like the Ritz or the Hyatt, then this is not the place for you. This is for people who enjoy a simple but yet cozy experience in a "cottage like" atmosphere. A huge plus, is that all rooms have a different theme, which makes it a different experience each time you stay if you choose a different themed room. We were truly relaxed the whole time and cannot wait to return :)
