The first "tell" about this hotel after we checked in, aside from the woman who checked us in at reception unable to recommend any pizza places nearby, was the spa attachment to the indoor pool foaming with suds from some unknown substance.
We continued to be let down in the elevator with a Caution cone in the corner which stayed our entire stay.
The room was an OK size but was really beat up. The seat of the desk chair was worn out and the dirty smudges inside the bathroom door and frame were disgusting. See three pictures below.
We were already unpacked when we noticed these things about the room so we didn't want to be inconvenienced to have to change rooms or hotels.
This was in sharp contrast to the Country Inn & Suites further north in Anderson, SC where we had stayed for the three previous nights.
The one thing these two hotels had in common was a hearty and complete breakfast buffet served til mid-morning. The day manager was cheery when we checked out and we were, well, glad to leave.
