“PARADISE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

stayed for 3 nights and it was such an experience ... the view and tranquility of the place is simply priceless ...activities were pretty amazing too - trekking to a stunning viewpoint on a cliff, snorkeling to see the blue corals, kayaking out to another small island off pink beach. Food is really decent (3 courses). Due to the small size of the resort , we experienced similar encounters as the other reviewers such as unavailable spa therapist and slightly slow housekeeping services . But all in all, for the price, it's already more than you can ask for - paradise , privacy/exclusivity (11 villas in the entire resort only), a guide to escort u on all activities , full board meals and basic drinks, villas with unobstructed views of the sea. I would definitely recommend this place to couples who are looking for a peaceful, quiet, different holiday.

Room Tip: Room 2,3,10 have fabulous views

Thank you for your great review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We now have two massage therapists and are looking to add a third. With the completion of the massage beruga, the library and the fire pit area near the beach we will now focus on improving service levels across the board. Our goal is to make Jeeva Beloam the most memorable retreat ever!

Once again, thank you for your review and we hope to see you again at Jeeva Beloam. Happy Travels!

The location is remote and picturesque.
Most food on the menu was frozen and nothing special.
The berugas are cool and different but weathered and in need for refurbishment.
The service was friendly, but basic and clumsy, clearly due to lack of training and only very basic english language skills.
We read most reviews prior to making the journey to Jeeva Beloam and the bad road and rustic descriptions did not put us off but we felt that for $300/night the food was too basic, the attention to detail missing and the place a little to scruffy. At $150/night this would be ok.
The location is very nice indeed, hopefully this review will help Jeeva to get back to what it must have been at some point as the reviews on here were all excellent..

Thank you for your review of Jeeva Beloam and your input. We agree that Jeeva Beloam is a beautiful location and also agree that it is very remote.

From your photos it looks like you were staying with us when it was raining. The area is much more beautiful when it isn't raining! The rain hampers routine maintenance and impacts the quality of the materials we use. In the past we had changed the shade over the deck every 3 months. We will now change the shade on a monthly basis. We are also replacing the roping on the hand rails as in your photograph. We need to caution our guests, however, that we are using natural raw materials at Jeeva Beloam wherever we can and these materials are often not perfect.

Generally there are 3 options on the menu at lunch and dinner at Jeeva Beloam; a seafood option, a chicken option and a vegetarian option. Most of these dishes are based on traditional Indonesian recipes but we can prepare other dishes upon request by our guests. Generally we buy the food materials on a daily basis with local sellers coming directly to Jeeva Beloam. It would have been quite the exception if we were serving frozen food unless for some reason this was a special request for an item we can not purchase locally such as imported beef or pork. We will review the menus and will improve food quality as we hope to make every aspect of your stay with us exceptional.

Jeeva Beloam is isolated. The nearest village is 11 km away and does not yet have electricity. As part of our commitment to the community we hire local staff as much as possible. We are now undertaking a new training program, including English language skills, and commit to improving our service levels.

Once again, thank you for your review. We will take immediate steps to address the issues you raised and hope that you plan to come to Jeeva Beloam and Lombok again!

We stay at Jeeva for 5 nights at february. Ecological village with very comfortable berugas, your personal beach,crystal-clear sea, incredible aromas of flowers ,rare birds and wild monkeys ! On both sides of the hotel behind scenic cliffs, hidden a few beaches. If you take a walk through the jungle, short-track,it will make pictures cliffs jutting out into the clear depths of the sea from a height of a bird flight - worthy bbc wild nature . Drive to the "pink beach" for a few hectares of the Gulf of soft and hard corals, on the road having a powerful burst of adrenaline because of the steep descent and ascent. Everything is included in the price.
There is no wi-fi, TV. Electricity in the morning and evening. Here nothing much to do but sit on the terrace and watching fantastic dawn - you are not notice how it was evening and its time to watch sunset....
Exceptional place, stunning comfortable climate with cool air ,extremely crystal clear sea. On the beach just sand, no garbage.
A food in hotel-all naturally grown ,easy and very tasty.
If you wanted something new,to escape from civilization, to forget about stress and ill health, maybe it's for you? Enjoy the last untouched corners of the planet and allow yourself the luxury of visiting the most beautiful place on earth.
This is not advertising booklet and only feedback of people who have been here - and after 11 years of traveling never saw so many treasures assembled in one place.
So much thanks to all team and special to Haikal manager for his attention for every our wishes, and Riadi receptionist for great check in check out. We in love Jeeva Beloam.

Arrived via SILKAIR, no arrival tax for Singapore passport (International Departure tax now IDR100,000 as of Dec 2013) Checked-in 930pm, after almost 2.5hrs car ride (bone-shaking last 11km) with 2 drivers.

Check-in at the reception at night was immediate & smooth with all the camp's "schedule" explained thoroughly. Timings have changed for power supply (low season, perhaps). Activities were provided free by the camp and always guided due to the remoteness and semi-wild environment. Camp is actually sitting smack in the middle of a wildlife nature reserve with limited buildings allowed to be built.

The brugaks were really basic and not well sealed to retain the air-conditioning. Not whining here as the natural breeze and cool sea air were fantastic. The usual toiletries and amenities were there. Drinking water (by a 19L water bottle dispenser) was provided in the brugaks (at the back, next to washbasin) and replenished as required.

For orientation, face the sea and you’ll find that the brugaks numbered 1-5(older) on the left and 6-11 (newer) on the right, separated by the dining pavilion. Newer brugaks 6-11 were built behind a sand dune. Sea breeze was constant all the time. We spent most of our time outdoors (under shade, activities, etc). The small bay of Jeeva Beloam was very well sheltered. Almost every day, we’d swim and snorkel left to right (i.e. South West by South direction). It was good to know that Jeeva Beloam has embarked on a conservation direction to rehabilitate the ecosystem in the bay. Visibility was rather good and the marine life was making a comeback after devastating dynamite fishing. Try snorkelling near the Southern end of the bay. If I’m not wrong, a small wooden “perahu” has been purchased for the guests use in the near future.

3 meals a day (3 course meals) were included in the package. Only fruit juices (from real fruit) were used, not cordials. Usually in-season fruits were offered i.e. Papaya, watermelon, pineapple, mangoes, dragonfruit, etc. Beer and alcoholic drinks can be consumed with additional charges. Please try not to bring your own food to the brugaks as it may attract unwanted attention from pests & vermin. If necessary, please ask for an "esky" or well-sealed large container which is complimentary from management. At the end of each meal, the restaurant staff will ask for your orders of the next meal. Meals usually consist of soup, main course and dessert. We'd load up during brekkie and skip the rice or pasta during lunch and dinner. We’re well fed during our stay and all our special requests were fulfilled (i.e. “spicy sambal” or “fruit yoghurt”, etc)

We did almost all of the activities offered – biking, kayaking, snorkelling, soft-trekking, etc. Soft-trekking starts from the side of brugak 11. Mountain bikes were well maintained for guests use. During our stay, we encountered wild boar, snakes, monkeys, buffaloes, etc. Pink Beach was nice and we even snorkelled near the pearl farms. The rural folks were very friendly and kids were wonderful. Our camp host for these activities was usually Rahman & he’s a real “bushman”!! We thoroughly enjoyed each of the activities with him and he even introduced us to a few secret spots he discovered during his off-time. I noted that on each outing, he’ll bring water for us, 1st aid kit and some form of communication equipment like mobile phone or a transceiver. He was periodically checking-in with the camp during each activity. Quite a number of staff and camp hosts have been with Jeeva Beloam since inception and they know the area like the back of their hands. Their previous assignments were from the other notable properties on LOMBOK, i.e. Novotel, Qunci, Sheraton, etc. I can’t blame them for working at Jeeva Beloam as the environment is certainly much BETTER!

During our stay, the new spa was being built by contractors and we’re never bothered by any inconvenience. In fact, after dinner we’d join them for a spot of night fishing from the beach. They’re mostly people from within the same area and working for additional income. I must say that their workmanship on the brugaks is commendable. All were built using natural resources and by hand.

Don’t forget to walk the beach after sunset or later in the night, lying on the cool sand to watch the stars! With practically nil foreshore lights and backscatter, on clear nights we could see the Milky Way and shooting stars! There’s no low hum of engines or other civilization “noises”.

Expressing our sadness to leave on our 4th day, we’re tempted by Camp Manager Mr. Haikal to extend our stay. We thanked him for the offer as we wanted to see what the sister property (Jeeva Klui) had to offer BUT we promised him we’ll be back!

To all the staff at Jeeva Beloam and Aris, Rahman, Sulman, Jum, Jalal and Haikal (Camp Manager), thank you so much for showing us the “wilder” side of LOMBOK!

Looking for a getaway, "digital diet" (no wifi, no phones, no tv), romantic getaway, this is the place you are dreaming for. This place is truly a hidden gem, one of a kind accommodation.

We were warmly greeted by our driver at the airport, from some of the reviews here we already got to know the bumpy road to the camp, and yes they are all true. It is quite a fun ride for me though, looking at the lush surroundings all the way from the airport to the camp and the when the driver says "the bumpy road starts here" it was fun! 40 minutes or so, finally we reach Beloam Camp. I was almost disappointed by the surroundings before reaching the camp, but once we step out from the car, sounds of greens, crashing waves, they makes me forget the bumpy ride and quickly we went to hell and came to heaven. From the amazing sea breeze, to the view and the friendly staffs, everything just drop and relax is all we can feel throughout our stay there.

Don't worry about speaking english here although learning some Bahasa will come in handy at times. Food, i am surprise with the culinary skills over there at this Camp. Every meal comes in a 3 course meal, and they are all yummy! Especially the satay lilit we tried, now i'm just hunger for more here back in Malaysia. Fruit juices and soft drinks are all complimentary except alcoholic drinks, although i must say alcoholic drinks here are really overpriced. I've try their long island tea, and it's doesn't come close to some long island tea i've tasted over the last months, it was ok, but not good enough.

The camp staff, just to mention a few like Ariz, Jumathri and Je, they try their best to accommodate you with every request and they are very friendly too. Kudos to Je who take care most of our meals there. Jumathri and Ariz has been a good company throughout the stay too, they also accompany us to a nearby beach for sunset. We were taken by a mini-4 wheel drive sitting on a bench behind the vehicle. They sure need serious cushion support as you have to go by the bumpy road again :P

It was only a 2 nights stay for us for a special Valentines getaway with my partner but it leaves us with unforgettable memories. We miss the sounds of waves, the amazing view, the yummy food BUT not the mosquitoes. Please bear in mind to bring extra repellent when your there, especially at night. Nevertheless, we really had a great time.. and hopefully to come back again for a longer stay. (We are yet to do all their activities that including kayaking and snorkeling at Pink Beach, cycling and jungle trekking too).

Suggestion for this hotel, probably a good boat ride from Bangsal Port, perhaps with this guest will be happy with the sea breeze and not taking a bumpy ride to the camp. :)

Our first experience visit Lombok, we were enjoyed a lot our stay in Jeeva Beloam..value for money, even i can say it's too cheap with the white pristine beach, blue turquoise water, the beautiful staff, luxurious experience that i got during my stay. And yes, the forest nature and the white sand beach are beautiful as the photos in the website!!
We will be back very sooon!!
