Upon checking in on Friday afternoon about 2:30 we found the young lady checking us in not all that friendly nor informative. Had to ask her where our room was and even then she failed to tell us information she should have told us. We found our room without problem and the first big item we missed... where is the closet?? We had a Disabled Room and they failed to tell us it had no closet. We finally figured out that what they did was do in the closet when they redid room to make it large enough to handle wheelchairs. We were only there for a couple of nights so we just decided to fold our clothes and put into drawers...though even there they only had two small ones. The next big problem was that they failed to put more than one bath towel, and no wash cloths into the bathroom. And on top of all that there was absolutely no place to put your toiletries or needed bath items. We did call front desk and all the missing items were brought... either by staff and in one case the General Manager herself. We also had to call the front desk to find out passwords for internet service, which were written on our room keep packets but not told this upon checking in. We latter spoke with General Manager about all these problems and she told us that the young lady was probably in a hurry to end her shift as it was over at 3pm. She also apologized about the towels and told us they had a portable closet we could use in our room or one of the luggage racks that roll. She also said on future visits they would also be more than happy to install temp. grab bars in the bathrooms if that was my main issue.. She was very friendly and polite and made us feel most welcome... now if only her check had done the same. The other good thing is that at 3pm they put out fresh baked chocolate chip cookies... complimentary. The smell is sooooo good as you first come in the door and the cookies are big and yummy.
The next morning we headed to the lobby for the breakfast and it too is good, but not great. Compared to many places it is better as they have make it yourself waffles, fresh fruit and juices, muffins... bagels...and breads and other good items, but the scrambled eggs were horrid and the bacon was the thinnest we had ever seen. ( So thin you could see right thru it.) We know they use mostly if not all precooked items and all I can say is please find better product concerning the eggs and bacon as it ruins what otherwise would have been an excellent venue.
On our second day we left the room before 9am and returned about 3pm to take a nap. I immediately noticed once again the lack of bath towels and fresh wash cloths. Figured that we would call after our nap to get them replaced again. About 45 minutes into our snooze the maid knocked on the door and I called out to her that we were resting. (Guess I should have put the "Do Not Disturb" on the door. After getting up I looked in hall and she was there and said she needed to put the towels into our room.... Good. Someone should also tell her to make sure to vacuum floors daily as I think the only thing she did in our room as empty the trash and wipe down the sinks and such. The bed was same as we left it... we straightened it up before leaving so it looked pretty good but still should have been remade. Room also was dusty onto of pictures and other areas.... I checked just to see how clean they really were.
Now all this being said I still have to say that overall I would stay here again as the bed was very good...though just a tad too soft for us. The room overall was nice and the big thing is that you get a good value for what you pay. This is a 2 star hotel... and I have stayed in 3 Star that did not own up to the level of this hotel. I want it made known that overall this place is a good hotel, and I hope the General Manager we met reads this as I know she really cares.
