While it is not the grand canyon, this one is spectacular as you will walk along the river and will follow it through the spectacular rocks.

“Incredible walk through a gorge..”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

If you are a fair to good walker this is the place for you.

It took my family 6 hours at a real average pace with a good few stops and a picnic for lunch. We started at Noiraigues which for Switzerland was very easy to park and free and then made the walk through the gorge to Boudry.

Each corner offers you something to see - waterfalls, narrow paths carved into the cliff side, a lagoon, places to swim, stunning viewing points, tunnels and bridges zig zagging across the gorge.

In Switzerland there is a culture of you can build a fire anywhere you want so you will see many people having impromptu BBQ's along the way ...take some meat along and be local.

Don't worry about getting back the public transport is the best in the world and took us only 40 minutes with waits ... ticket machine does English and very easy to understand. Ask any local and they will help many will speak English.

I live in Switzerland and love this place.

Took a train to Boudry and walked through this beautiful gorge to Noiraigues. This took us 3.5 hours with lots of stops on the way to take photos. We chose this way as having knee problems its easier to walk up hill. Most people do the walk in the other direction. This is a beautiful gorge. As it rained the day before it was wet and slippery in places. There is a restaurant at Champ du Moulin and also a railway station if you only want to do a shorter walk. There is only one train an hour and this is a different line than the one which stops at Boudry. So if you've parked your car either in Boudry or Noiraigue. Its advisable to plan how to return to your car.
