A 2-hr drive from the Georgia heartland and we were in Paradise. Photos on the resort's website do not prepare you for the breathtaking approach to the hotel - a wonderful winding road replete with flowers and trees. The lobby of the hotel is everything you might expect - warm, welcoming wood and stone everywhere. When mentioning at reception that there had been a glitch in booking our room due to the way they had charged my credit card, they immediately apologized and offered us a mountain-view room instead of whatever was originally intended. Views from the front of the hotel are really lovely, too.
We took our first golf lesson, had 2 dinners in the hotel, spent loads of time in the indoor/outdoor pools and generally had 3 days of complete relaxation.
Breakfast was more than generous, complete with someone cooking made-to-order omelets and waffles.
The only complaint is in regard to the air conditioners. They are old fashioned and extremely noisy. It's time to replace them with newer models that let the guests adjust the thermostat rather than having a clanky old thing that just gets colder and colder.
