We returned to Stoneridge Resort after almost twenty years. Happily, this is a place that is not showing its age. In fact, it is getting better. The pool and spa have been converted to salt water. A improved miniature golf facility has been added for enjoyable play. we got to appreciate it even though snow covered most of it during our stay. we enjoyed indoor pickleball with local players who share their passion with even the most unknowledgeable and unskilled players who want to join them M,W, and F each week. We cross-country skied on the golf course as well as at nearby Farragut State Park. We enjoyed DVD played each evening that introduced us to significant businesses, history, and conservation projects in the northern ID area. The accommodations provided comfort. The staff was the most welcoming from those in the office to those in the recreation center. The thought put into designing this resort as well as the continuing upgrades and additions means this resort will be there another twenty years for us to enjoy with our family. Good restaurants are available nearby as well as fine dining experiences about 40 miles away.

Room Tip: Good restaurants can be found from 2 to 40 miles away. Rooms all have good views. some may prefer...

My wife and I spent a week in Feb. 2014 at Stoneridge Resort in Northern Idaho. Although the resort is quite isolated, it is about 45 min drive to Coeur d' Alene which is quite cosmopolitan with great restaurants and lots of shopping. Also, it is about a 45 min drive to Sandpoint, a quaint small town. In the summertime both Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint are on beautiful lakes. We went to ski - there are two excellent ski resorts about 1.5 hrs drive, Schweitzer Basin (fantastic lake views and varied ski runs) near Sandpoint and Silver Mountain near Coeur d'Alene. In the summer Stoneridge has a nice golf course. It is about a 30 min drive to Silverwood Theme Park - great roller coasters, other rides, live entertainment and an outstanding water park.
We had a 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit that we reserved via Interval International. Although the unit was a bit small, it was satisfactory with a queen bed and sofa sleeper. Nothing fancy but OK. The kitchen was adequately stocked with pots/pans including a small dishwasher and regular refrigerator. Be sure to buy groceries on the way as the closest grocery is in Spirit Lake, about a 15-20 min drive. We do most of our own cooking but did eat one evening in Rathrum (30 min drive) at O'Malleys Pub - varied menu and good food.
We were VERY impressed with the recreation center. It has a wonderful 72 ft salt water indoor pool and salt water hot tub, full gym, two racket ball courts, sauna, and exercise room. Salt water hot tub was great after skiing - no chlorine fumes! The staff throughout the resort was very friendly and helpful.
Hope to return in the summer for some boating and fishing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the golf course.

Spent a week here in November and can't wait to go back in the summer. Resort is a little older and not a luxury resort but the rooms are functional and clean and the rec centre is great. There was crafts and activities for the kids every afternoon the pool was large and had exercises classes every morning. Gym had all the basics and spa/steam room was amazing. They have quiet time in the pool spa for people not traveling with kids. It is a fair drive from the nearest town but that's part of the charm. Looking forward to going back in the summer to take advantage of the mini and regular golf courses and enjoy the beautiful
mountain air. It is also close to silverwood park.

We had another great week at Stoneridge, this time staying over Christmas/New Years Week. Updating from last review…..the resort no longer offers the punch card for $20. No problem there were tons of crafts and what not to keep my 12 year old busy all week (each craft was roughly $2-3 and kept her busy for an hour).
This was our first time staying over New Years and what a New Years party they had. FREE food, games, door prizes, music and fun for kids.
As always we spent a lot of time in the huge hot tub and enjoyed the salt water swimming pool for the first time.
I highly recommend attending the Welcome hour. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT a timeshare sales pitch and Lisa shared with us a bunch of local fun things to do as well as restaurants and places to get groceries.
This is not a hotel people so don't expect white robes and an assortment of toiletries. It is a great place to spend time out in nature and the fresh air, away from traffic and noise. Be prepared to drive a bit for restaurants and buy food to make your own meals. Have a great stay!!

Room Tip: Main floor if you can, then no stairs. It is a bit of a hike up the stairs with suitcases and whatn...

We stayed here in mid October in a 2 bedroom suite. The unit was on the 3rd floor with no elevator! So it was a long hike up the stairs. The unit itself was clean but had well worn and stained carpeting. The thing definitely looked like the 1970's although the staff insisted that it had been updated. The fridge was dirty around the handle which I did not like. The dishwasher looked like original equipment and the stove was tiny but adequate. The bedrooms were with the same dingy carpeting and the bed was small, probably a double and we are used to a king or queen so it was hard to get a good night's sleep. The kitchenette area had fake hard wood flooring that looked well used also. Curtains were a bit dirty and certainly not stylish. The bathroom had a separate sink area but no door so the toilet and shower area was the only place to dress and undress. This small tub/toilet area was very tight quarters for getting dressed. The shower curtain was an ugly print that was mostly dark brown and I wondered if it was dirty. White would let you know that. No rounded out shower curtain rod either. So I was afraid to touch the shower curtain. The tub was well worn and the faucet so old that I was afraid that I would pull it out of the wall when I tried to pull it out to get the water to flow. We had a problem with bugs getting into the unit and we could not identify what they were. Parking was adequate although the spaces were close together and I was afraid that our rental car would be dinged. We did not go to the rec center so I do not know anything about it. The staff was friendly. The walking trails were okay but had many dog owners walking their dogs sometimes without a leash and then the dogs would run after me. Also some dog poop on the trails. There was a restaurant on the premises but we did not use it. I would never go back here.

Room Tip: Remember that the 3rd floor requires that you drag your suitcases, food and anything else up those s...

My wife and I stayed there for a week from 6-13 September and lucked out with unseasonably warm weather. Each day was clear with temperatures in the high 80's and low 90's with no humidity. We'd never been to the northwest before and drover straight to the resort from Spokane without any problems. The resort sent us a welcome packet two weeks before our arrival that included detailed instructions as to how to get to the registration office.
While my wife and I aren't golfers, the resort had a beautiful golf course. It also has tennis courts, minature golf (the nicest one I've ever seen), an indoor salt water pool, gymnasium, fitness center and mountain bikes for a small rental fee. There were countless miles of trails to ride bikes as my wife and I were gone for five hours exploring the area.
The rooms were rustic and designed to make you feel like you were in the woods. We had a one bedroom and were very comfortable in it. At home I have a hard time getting a good night's rest but each day at Stoneridge I got about eight hours sleep. Maybe it was the clean, mountain air that helped but the bed was very comfortable.

Room Tip: There are no elevators so if you're elderly, request a downstairs room.

We arrived after dark October 1st and if it weren't for our GPS, we would never have found the office. No one had bothered to turn on street lights/luminaires and it was very dark, registration/office was not prominent. The registration peoplke did not know when the restaurant closed. They were kind enough to call, and it was closed before 7;30 pm. So we were out of luck for a close-by supper.

Room was clean, but since it is a condo-style rental, coffee pot without coffee was the finding. Bed was a bit on the soft side. When does one look for a hairdryer? Right, when one has wet hair and is just out of the shower. Spouse went to the office for one. Ditto there is no iron or ironing board in the room.

Gorgeous view the next morning of the gorgeous golf course. Breakfast at the resort restaurant was ideal (althjough none of the three people at the registration office could tell us how long they served breakfast nor when they opened. Great price for the room, but they cater to the elderly, retired golfing set.

Room Tip: I believe all of these rooms open out onto the golf course.
