Yeah. Apparently, the chef quit the night before our visit. 1st selection: not available tonight. 2nd: nope. How about clams with green curry sauce? Sounds good. They were tasty - even though they were mussels, not clams. Limited wine list. Overall: mediocre. I prefer Chandlers, which is a short walk away.

We had a very nice, quiet dinner here on a night that Boise State was playing, so we practically had the restaurant to ourselves. Our server was friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive.

I had the Filet Renato which was incredible and worth every penny. It was cooked perfectly and was flavored just right. Every bite melted in my mouth and I reluctantly shared one bite with my husband who immediately said he should have ordered it, too. Instead, he had the Duck Carbonara which had fresh noodles and a slightly heavy sauce (from the duck). He enjoyed it but kept eyeing my steak. He said his accompanying Caesar salad was drowning in dressing, suggesting a request for “light dressing” would be a good idea.

The wine list was pretty standard. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was more formal and elegant while the outdoor patio looked more casual. Both areas looked comfortable and easy to linger in.

What a wonderful way to spend a Bday diner with family! the service was attentive without being overbearing and our waiter made every effort to make sure our meal was "perfecto" The food was savory, and tickled the pallet and made the senses feel like they had been catered to. If the weather hadn't been threating to storm I think sitting out side on the patio would have been the perfect setting for the food. The patio seating had live music which would have been nice if it had been sent to the speakers inside the restaurant instead we had (my one complaint) a little too loud background muzak. If you have a special occation and are looking for something different you just might want to give Angell's a try.

I couldn't wait to try the new Angell's as it was as icon for Boise and disappointed with it's closure. Hum, think they have so
E bus to work out with the wait staff. Stopped in after alive after 5 intending to have drinks and appetizers, wine list limited for by the glass; great selections for first bites which our wait staff explained was the appetizer section....hum... Waiter and rest if the staff appeared to fit a mold of current trendy looks but lack of knowledge about food and customer service. Could have had something to do with supervising staff member who was barking out orders on the formalities of serving. The calamari was tasty but the atmosphere detracted from the taste of the evening. The musician for the evening lacked in depth and tone. Oh well , tried it, good luck, hope you can keep a float in the downtown dining industry, put a personality in the staff, could help improve the taste of the evening.
