While walking in the park, we noticed there was an art museum, so why not splurge on the $6 entry and see what they had in store? Surprisingly, this was one of the most well-curated art galleries I've ever been to.... A nice mix or contemporary and traditional, sculpture and painting, local and international. From the Kehinde Willey portraits to local artists depicting nontypical Boise landscapes (no fluffy watercoulors here, great urban realism), to the speculative, aesthetic, and cultural artifacts. All very well done for a small gallery. plus the staff were friendly, the store was great, and then we stumbled across Freak Alley downtown (murals). Who knew Boise was such a hot bed of contemporary arts?
