Like another reviewer, we searched this place out after seeing it on Drive Ins, Diners and Dives. It is not the easiest place to find, but Boise is not a huge, frantic city, so you just take your time and follow the directions.
Chicken and Pizzas are the speciality. If you want chicken, I would recommend calling ahead. The Pizzas are eclectic. You can go traditional ingredients or throw convention to the wind and try elk meat, wild mushrooms, and Asiago cheese! You can go vegan also.
The building and decor are a feast to look at...straight from the 60's.If I had to guess, the owner was/is a hippie. Nothing matches, there are several seating areas using old metal patio furniture tables and whatever chairs were found at a garage sale. There is a huge photo collage of every rock singer or group back to the 50's. We got drawn into trying to name all of the "rockers". You can buy a smaller version if you want.
Pizza was pricey and when you add wine; it was as much as a dinner although we were there for lunch. Be sure and check what you are being charged.
Please don't be looking for an upscale place. This one is on the dive scale, but friendly, interesting, fresh ingredients, and worth the visit.
