This was our second visit to The Flamingo Motel-- the first time, taking our daughter out to college in Portland , OR-- this time to attend her college graduation. We had requested the same suite, one with a cabin theme. The heat wasn't working quite right, so Art, the very personable owner, gave us an even better suite- Route 66. We had my 83 year old mother with us and she was thrilled , to say the least, with the place! You will not find a better deal- ANYWHERE!!!!! The place is spotless, the towels are super thick, the decor is beautiful and it is HUGE! Art, the owner, could not be more accommodating, he even provided us with a very good bottle of wine and beautiful glasses. Over and above service! This place is not to be missed if your travels take you near Coeur d' Alene.

We stopped at the Flamingo on an absolute whim and ending up staying two nights in the Cowboy Room. I knew I was going to be happy when I met Art, the owner, and BJ, the cat - and they both extended great hospitality throughout the stay. My wife and I and two teen age girls were comfortable - the rooms were inviting and clean, and the whole experience harkened back to yesteryear where special care and pride is taken in good service. The location as well cannot be beat - within walking distance of downtown and Tubbs Hill and all the good stuff. Highly recommended.

Caveat: This is not the Ritz. If you're looking for a fancy place to stay, this is not it. This is a place of simpler times - a 'motel' in the truest sense of the word. Clean. Comfortable. Down-home goodness.

Plus - for a mere quarter - you get 15 minutes of Magic Fingers. You may not know what this is, especially if you were born after 1970, but I promise you this: bliss. Crazy good. Great place to stay.

Thanks Art and BJ!

Room Tip: Cowboy room, pilgrim.

This small little motel is within walking distance of downtown. Parking is available directly in front of the rooms. Our room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and we had nice fluffy towels in the bathroom. One of the owners took the time to show us the room before we had to pay. Though the room was a little small, the cost was reasonable. The only negative was the motel is close to the main roadway going into downtown and it was kind of noisy. However, we knew that before deciding to stay there, so overall the experience was excellent.

we just stayed there on feb 26th 2012 we loved it they were very friendly and helpful when we had questions, we were taken on a tour and showed the the different rooms then we got to choose the room we wanted, we stayed in the The Emerald Isle room and felt so at home it was cozy and the bed was so soft with clean sheets no stains. there is a greeter cat there named beejay who is friendly and loves to be peted and given lots of love, he will come in your room if you invite him and and lay on the bed and let you pet him all night, we plan to stay there again and will be telling eveyone if they are looking for a great motel with awsome rates to stay at this hotel

As per previous reviewers- we found the proprietors to be friendly and outreaching...Booked by phone, sight unseen and before we were committed to a certain room.. we were given the tour of all of them.. Chose the golfing room -based on the 2 bed and arrangement configuration.. Room was well appointed with all the ammenities..clean and fresh.Very comfy for sitting around .Inherent in the location is the fact that there is a lot of street noise-...traffic, road sweeper, dumpster emptying etc. This particular room could benefit from black out drapes as the plantation shutter shade cannot keep out the light from the dual street lights...Street noise in this room also comes thru the air conditioner unit..Lastly- the proprietor's meowing cat that others speak of...needed to be chased off our front porch several times in the evening.. and again for trying to get out of the rain and into our room while packing out in the am. If I was traveling with a pet that was totally forbidden in the room, it would go against my grain to "share" the local pet. High marks for friendly.. and location..but not for a good night sleep..

Every room has been redecorated in various themes. We chose the Tuscan room, which for winter, was inviting. The theme details were perfect, soft towels and sheets, nice tub, newer fixtures and very clean. It was hard to imagine what might have been a cheap motel at one time, be so elegantly remodeled. And the lobby is filled with information about the area. This was our Christmas trip and we walked to town, past splendid window displays and the town was dressed to the nines for the season.
