First time at a B&B...My wife and I were very impressed. The house itself is a beautiful old Victorian style home, while the furnishings inside lean more to a modern look that makes for a great look. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you need any advice on where to go and what to do. Our room was number 3 and I would highly recommend this room! The bed was amazing, the fireplace was a great amenity to the room and the shower in the bathroom was a massive shower with a rain fixture as well as your typical shower head. The breakfast was simple, healthy and delicious. Not to mention you are a short walk from downtown and a beautiful hiking trail called tubs hill. I would recommend this placed to anyone and everyone!

Room Tip: Room 3 was amazing! Well worth the money.

The AC out in our 3rd floor room (it was fine to us anyway) meant a free upgrade to the room of our choice, which was nice and cool. Beautiful furnishings and decor. Very accommodating staff. Generous and high quality breakfast items, including the best (homemade) croissants I've ever had. A pleasant stay in an excellently restored, early 1900's home.
Easy to find on a main street, yet still quiet.
We'd like to return with our children.

We live in Coeur d' Alene and had a real treat this last weekend by staying at the Blackwell Hotel. Just hard to express what a great place it is. First of all the Hotel was very clean from the top to bottom. The room we stayed in was very spacious and the bed is more comfortable then ours at home, which is hard to say about most hotel beds. Being built in 1904 it had the old style mixed in with the new which I found very appealing. When you first enter the Hotel your attention is dominated by the fireplaces. That's right there is two with great seating at either. The kitchen is unbelievable with well stocked very large refrigerators. Lizz the Manager is wonderful and made a continental breakfast that was truly amazing. Living here we are going to make this our once a year special date time. Maybe more. Thank you Blackwell Hotel and staff, and Kudos to Lizz.

This boutique hotel is adorable. It has 7 rooms, each room decorated differently. It is 3 floors. The home was built in the early 1900's and has so much character. It us right in downtown Coeur d'Alene. You can walk to wonderful restaurants and great shopping. You are a little ways from city beach and the CDA Resort. The grounds are great for a wedding, reception, parties etc. You won't be disappointed.

Mind you, we're only 3 yrs into our marriage, still fresh! We've celebrated our anniversary every yr, mainly small, but special. This one tops the last two! My husband surprised me this weekend, 4/26-27/2014, by taking me to this hotel and a dinner reservation. Well worth what he payed! It's was private, extremely comfortable and the hospitality was beyond welcoming as well as the service. It felt more like a getaway to our own personal vacation home in a beautiful downtown setting. The art and interior design was a mixture of French, Victorian and modern, progressive that was well balanced. We had a fireplace and enormous walk in tile shower. Make sure if you do get a fireplace, prop some windows open to balance out the temperature or else you'll bake. Other than that, we didn't want to leave! A wonderfully splendid anniversary spent at a wonderfully splendid hotel. We are definitely going back in the near future.

With family in Coeur d'Alene we've had the opportunity to stay at a few different properties and the Blackwell Hotel is without question our "New Favorite." The property and amenities are magnificent, but what truly sets it apart is the sincere welcome you receive. I have to admit my husband was a little hesitant when I told him where we were staying (he's not a fan of the typical B&B experience), but he was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable he was staying at the Blackwell. Thank you Liz for making our stay so relaxing. It truly was a treat to visit with you over our morning coffee. We'll see you on our next trip to Cd'A.

While in Washington for our granddaughter's Volleyball Tournament we decided to stay in Coeur D'Alene at the Blackwell for 3 days. We can't say enough about our stay. From the moment we arrived it felt like home. The staff was very accommodating, helpful and courtesy. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Liz (the manager) would go out of her way to make sure our stay was very pleasant. We loved the place and hope there is another trip in the near future. Thanks to the staff, we had a very enjoyable stay. We highly recommend the Blackwell Hotel.
