Telaya Wines are awesome! We were so excited to find this vintner. Although the grapes are currently sourced mostly from Washington, the winemaker/owner (Earl) is transitioning to using more Idaho fruit. After spending nearly an hour chatting with Earl and learning his background, passion, and approach to making wine, we are certain that he has a bright future in the wine world. We liked all of his wines; there wasn't a bad one in the bunch.
The tasting room is in a warehouse in Garden City (a neighborhood/area within Boise). It is shared by 3 wineries that seem to have a very friendly, cooperative, interactive relationship. Wine production takes place in the warehouse, too, so you can get a peek of wine being made as you wander around with your tasting glass. A very fun, casual experience where you also get a chance to chat with the winemakers themselves because they are the ones working their tasting counters. A highly recommended stop!
