Reviewed 15 July 2012

Ok - yes the views are incredible but that is the ONLY thing I liked about this place.

Based upon my research there are only a couple of places to stay in Harrison so choices are limited. I would NEVER stay here ever again.

Every morning I took advil because my back hurt from the bed. Every time you moved on the bed (even to roll over) it made horrible noises. It was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. Then the little fridge ran and all hours of the night. It tended to rattle when it came on. If we didn't have food in it I would of turned it off. The air conditioner sounded like a 747 taking off - it was so loud! You could every noise around you. The walls were thin so we could hear our neighbors talking, coughing, showering - it was horrible! Needliess to say - we didn't sleep!

Now on to the construction. I agree with another review - the construction was not that great. There were noticable screws in the ceiling, the bathroom door had holes in it, no molding, the deck was plywood, the carpet didn't even go to the patio door - you could see the wood underneath.

And the little details....missing bathroom plug, holes in the bath mat (should of been thrown away), no silverware, tub didn't look clean, hole in the bathroom door, and just felt plain dirty in there. We couldn't wait to leave...

WE booked this hotel on a bike ride on the trail of coeur d'alene. Excellent place to stay. Limited food and other types of stores (one trading post), but nice restaurant on the docks...

The trail was directly below the room. One of the few places to stay on the Trail. I would suggest this plan if riding. Day One...Kellogg to Harrison (37 miles), Day two...Harrison to Plummer, Day Three...return. We spotted moose, all kinds of wildlife, on the trail. Lake is directly below the hotel....so your views (which every room has), are great. The owners totally helpful. I even paid to take a ride back to Kellogg so we could skip some of the return ride on the trail...fairly reasonably..

Just returned from a 3-day stay at Lakeview Lodge, which we booked to skate the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. Beautiful room, great location, warm and welcoming hosts. I can't recommend the Lakeview Lodge, Harrison, or the Trail more highly. If you want to skate (or bike) the Trail (and you should - it is absolutely amazing, especially for long-distance skaters) you MUST make this your home base.

We stayed in room 14, a king sized bed on the second floor with a balcony. The room was nicely appointed with a native american theme. The view was spectacular. The birds were active, green back swallows building nests, attack hummingbirds, the mating calls of grebes, and an osprey surveying the realm of his lake. The king size bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the little refrig and microwave. The owners were especially accomendating of our needs. We rode the Trail of the Coeur d'alenes from Mullan and they assisted us with information and a generous checkout time. We would stay there again and recommend you stay there also.

We rented a suite of rooms...full kitchen with breakfast bar counter, living room with sleeper sofa, separate bedroom (no door between) with king bed and bath. The view was incredible. The price was incredible ($85) for all of that as well. The room could have been cleaner and there were places on the living room wall that were scuffed/marked up. The bathroom grout around the bathtub was discolored and the light switch upon entering the main room needed scrubbing, but overall the suite was adequately clean. The rooms appeared to have had fresh paint within the last two years and the kitchen counter was tiled nicely. There was one hole in the wall...a painted over electrical box with no cover that the phone cord went through. The decor was very "bear"....pillows with bears, framed pictures with bears, coasters with bear paw prints, area rug with bears and other wildlife, various knick knacks with the bear theme. Nice pottery style dishes and mugs. It was a nice touch and made the suite much more unique. There was also a free standing gas fireplace in the bedroom to add a bit more ambiance. Check-in was a little technologically challenged, but not a problem. It's a very small town so expect small town technology. This place is right on the water and the view in the morning with the sun rising and a mist hanging in the air was gorgeous! In spite of it not being spotless, it is well worth the money paid and we will visit again and explore Harrison.

This little lodge, in the quiet town of Harrison right next to the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes (bike trail), has been beautifully redone. Our room with King bed & "kitchenette" was very, very nice. It had a full kitchen, including oven and dishwasher. The decor theme was "fishing" and it was very nicely done. The bed was comfy, as were the chairs in the sitting area. The friendly owner showed us several units, all of which looked nice (not all have dishwashers). The balcony looks right out onto Coeur d'Alene Lake. Perfect place for a relaxing get-away if you enjoy biking or walking.

We were there during the off-season, but the room was freshly cleaned and the bed freshly made. We'll be back soon!!!

I'm really confused about the reviews saying this inn was "beautifully renovated". If that is the case, Idaho has some really interesting construction standards.

First off, let me say that the view is absolutely phenomenal. I would probably stay here again because of the view of the lake alone. Not to mention the fact that this is about the only place to stay in the tiny town of Harrison.

So, that said, what's my beef? Well, our room-- specifically the bathroom and bed-- were not particularly clean. I realize this was the off-season, and perhaps the room hadn't been looked at in a while, but that wouldn't account for the shower window which had not been wiped down in a long time, or the small pieces of dead bug on my pillow (not a huge deal, looked like a fly, nothing itchy-scratchy).

To be fair, the price for this room was incredibly low. Even during their high season the place isn't going to break the bank.

And did I mention the view? Yes, that view will hide a multitude of sins.

The bed was squishy, squishy soft and my husband and I had such a horrible sleep we got up and left around 5:30 in the morning.

As I was lying in bed and reading I glanced up at the ceiling and was confronted by some really weird construction work. It looked like somebody had screwed lats onto the ceiling with basic construction screws. There were some water stains around the area out to the private patio (a very cool amenity-- like the view).

This is a really lovely area and this motel has the best location and view of any place I've been in the Pacific Northwest. If they could just tidy up a bit their rating would really jump up.
