For our bi-annual family trip, we chose this ranch, and it was the best vacation we've had. From ages 6 to 70 years, there was something for everyone. The entire staff is wonderful, the accommodations are more than comfortable, the food is delicious and plentiful (not to mention the Happy Hour!). There is something for everyone: horseback riding, mountain biking, ziplines, archery, fishing, horseshoes --- just to mention part of our week.

Our grandchildren are already wondering when we can go back!

We recently visited the ranch celebrating our 50th anniv with our children and grandchildren.
It was an excellent choice! The activities are many and varied. The staff is out to please all ages and very friendly about it. We participated in horseback riding, biking, mountain biking, archery, shooting clay pigeons, plinking, fishing, zip line, pottery, massages.
A wonderful baker made us a special anniv cake!
The food was excellent with many choices.
Bar tender had a fantastic memory with a good selection.
The staff makes a point to remember names and give personal service!
We stayed in Hilltop house with our entire family (10). A great view and had the horses in a
pasture right next to us for 1 night.
I would highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed at Red Horse Mountain Dude Ranch for 6 nights in June 2014. The ranch is about 1.5 hours from the Spokane airport and it's a gorgeous drive to the ranch along Coeur d'alene Lake.

Our trip was amazing and we definitely would like to go back in the future. The staff was exceptional and took very good care of us. The food was fabulous. The horses were so fun to ride and were well trained - for novice riders we felt completely comfortable from trail riding to trotting to cantering.

Although the weather was not perfect every day, we participated in many of the activities offered. In addition to horse riding, we experienced shooting sporting clays, archery, zip lines, fishing, bike riding along the lake, mountain biking, and massages. Even when the weather turned pretty wet one afternoon, they opened up the pottery painting studio.

We would highly recommend Red Horse Mountain Dude Ranch if your family wants to get away for some mountain fun!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Hilltop House, which slept 10 people. The house was great and spacious and we had p...

Do you remember when you were young and went to camp or on a group trip? Remember becoming fast friends with the other campers/travelers soon after arriving and that sense of melancholy when it is over? We became such quick friends this last week with five other families and our girls (7 and 4 1/2) instantly bonded with the other kids in the group that it was a let down to see the week end.

The week at the ranch felt like camp for adults as well as camp for kids. The day could be as structured as you wanted or as laid back as you needed. We chose to go, go, go and experience as much as we could but found ourselves asking about nap time a few days! The food was terrific and the drinks were great.

There were twenty five guests for this opening weekend in 2014 (sixty normally) with what it seemed to be as many staff. This created a unique intimate experience. We enjoyed learning about the wranglers lives and the guests lives as much as we did doing all the activities.

With no locks on doors, the kids able to have free rein (pun intended) from making themselves drinks behind the bar (non-alcoholic of course) to hopping in the hot tub and generally running around at their leisure to the adults having time to bond as well as experience a myriad of activities from clay target shooting to archery to fly fishing lessons to riding your horse for hours at a time, not to forget the nightly entertainment, the week was simply magical.

We would like to add that we stayed in a suite in the main lodge. It was perfect for the four of us because we were literally "just downstairs" so the kids could play upstairs alone or quickly run back up to the room if they needed anything.

It's tough to come home to the suburbs after a week like this.

Thanks again and hope to see you all again soon!

I rarely cover ground twice, but RHM continues to impress - 2014 will be my 4th year in a row! In a nutshell, their attention to detail is first-cabin all the way. The Gals- Only Week is an all-inclusive tremendous value; the top-notch staff is keenly interested in making your vacation the best possible; everything from fine dining, to safety during events, to luxurious massages, or even the evening entertainments, you name it, I have rarely encountered such a great team. There are so many fun activities, you will be hard pressed to fit them all in during one week. And the women that I have met; groups of longtime friends, mother-daughter pairs, sisters, gals traveling solo, at RHM have all been warm, smart, funny and a real joy to make great memories and share many laughs with.

Went for the girls week to celebrate my fiftieth birthday. Best week ever. The food was over the top. They made our breakfast made to order, and lunch as well as dinner was divine. we loved all our activities and the staff made it perfect. The attention to excellence just impressed all of us. I can't wait to go back. Thank you Cory, Jody, Jeannie and staff for giving me the best birthday trip ever.

Our group of six visited during the adult portion of their season, after the kiddies return to school after Labor Day. There were 34 guests total and all I can say is awesome. Adult ranch camp at it's finest, the accommodations, staff, activities and meals were very good. From the time we arrived Sunday until the final Friday night, we felt as welcome and engaged as each of us wanted to be. I could go on for quite a while but I'll keep it succinct.
Pluses
Meals (3 squares a day with personal choices available if planned in advance) featuring a 5 course dining treat one evening that is fine dining that will compete at any restaurant.
You get the same horse all week. Unless you have an issue, you get to have your horse waiting for you any time you plan your ride (the day prior).
The accommodations were nicer than the Yosemite Hotel. Rustic but comfortable, maybe the lighting could be better but I just about passed out each night anyway.
Activities will keep you as busy as you want. Literally, every day you can choose between riding your horse, bicycle, make pottery, kayak, shoot clay pigeons, zip line, fish or try archery. Not all are offered every day (besides the horse riding) but there is a wealth of activities for everyone. I even went off site for 9 holes of golf one morning that was included.
Finally, THE STAFF. A very friendly group that went above expectations. Special kudos to Kay at the bar, Steve in the kitchen and Shawn who was everywhere. But Brenda, Jim, Andi, Claire Anna, Lacey and others I can't recall all made the trip terrific.

The only downside was communication and the outhouse near the tack house salloon. Not knowing how the ranch worked, we "assumed" that it would be a good idea to pick up some wine beer and snacks for the week. Bad move. There was ample beverages, micro brew beer and more food than we could eat. There was also a $50 beverage cost for unlimited alcoholic drinks (outside of the wine tasting and happy hour freebies). Wish we had known that ahead of time. And that outhouse had seen a season of use it seemed and was truly foul.

But those were the only blemishes that kept it from a 5 star review. Cory and his staff, the location and fun we had will be remembered forever and I', already trying to figure out when we may be able to return.
