On arrival staff very helpful with aircon. Room was large and quiet. Breakfast was so much to eat, set out so well, shame to touch it it looked so good, lasted us all day. Only problem was no proper curtain in bathroom and no shower curtain but then we were abroad and this does seem to be the norm. We would use this hotel again as the waterbus is only 5 minutes walk as well as the local restaurants, and you have a much quieter evening in Lido. Must use the ice machine again, top up water bottles with ice for the trips to main island and others in hot weather.

Room Tip: Buy the best you can afford not the cheapest.

What was I thinking booking a Best Western in one of the most beautiful cities in the wold. Got exactly what I deserved: a dump. Ignored other writers comments about ants - figured every property has a bad day. It's every day at this one. It must have been built on the largest anthill in the world. The rooms are infested with ants. I say rooms because we tried 4. Each was worse; after several moves, we stayed in the first. Staff was very accomodating about trying to fix issues but there were so many of them. The tiny room had no place for luggage nor toiletries. Hotel is conveniently located if you want to be in a very quiet location away from all the action. We didn't, but that one was our fault for chosing the location. Air conditioning didn't work even though they kept insisting it did until they finally decided to find the circuit breaker that was off and put it on - then we had air conditioning. No assistance with luggage till you drag it up the 8 or so steps to their entrance-same on departure. To get to our room, we had to walk through what looked like a large storage room. To say this place id dated would be to really complement it. They refused to give us the breakfasts that were INCLUDED in our reservations-said it would be extra. We didn't pay nor eat!

Room Tip: Not here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We decided to stay in Lido to avoid Venice´s crowds and hustle, and it was a good option. Very convenient situation, close to ferry, beach and restaurants yet in a quiet nice street. The room was big and service at the reception desk was very good, although internet didn´t work for 2 days (we stayed 4). The main problem was sleeping, because we could hear everyone coming and going all through the night.

Having no choice for Hotels as booked through Trafalgar Tours, this Hotel was chosen for us.
After reading some reviews and hearing other comments about this Hotel, we found that our room (4th floor) was extremely large. Had a separate washroom sink, warmed towel bar and a jet tub and another separate room with shower and sink and yet another small room for a closet/safe.
Our room also had a balcony, but too cold to sit out. Bed was very comfortable and pillows were a little more puffier. Did not have much time to watch any TV but there were English channels as well. We did not need A/C as this particular night was just a little on the cool side.
Staff were very pleasant and accommodating and helpful. Free internet was also a plus.
A short boat ride away from Venice was a nice relaxing ride and only about 10 min. Quick walk to the Hotel and you were in the peace and quiet of a small sleepy town.
The buffet was as expected. Nothing special, but enough to get you through without hunger pains. The usual: cheese/cold cut meats/salads/tomatoes/pastries/toast/jams/scrambled eggs/tater gems. Coffee was as usual in Italy: out of a "quick machine"which also gave you a variety of coffees/teas. This is something that we did not get used to. Our coffee is "real coffee"and to drink their american coffee is not like home!
There is a market just about 1 block away with little snacks for you to munch on while shopping in Venice or in your room.
Resturant across from the Market was also very good.
Although being a group and perhaps paying up front we were told to leave as ''other customers" were wanting to be seated. Looking around there was no one else to be seated in the room. Perhaps we rang up the bill past the amount that Trafalgar pays???!!!
Wine is excellent as well!
Would we stay here again? Absolutely without a doubt, but make sure you get a room on the 4th floor. I really do think that made a difference in our stay at this Hotel.

Room Tip: Rember to ask for a 4th floor room. I do believe they are much bigger/roomier than other rooms.
