Generally, Venice is incredible place, and Lido the perfect choice to stay, at least I do believe, we had a best four night honeymoon last of April, quite island. Four star hotel but Buffet is at least five star service, mini bar available. Lovely, helpful staff.net access available in lobby get password from front disk get online, slow download but ok,we stay in room 108,web photo same in real
Looking for unforgotten honeymoon , just go there.

The hotel is beautiful. It is located in Lido an island about 10 min. away from San Marco by boat. Nice, clean, hotel which is located in a very beautiful part of the island. They gave us one bedroom with a queen bed and then two small bedrooms with sengle beds that my kids loved it. Breakfast was great and the staff were nice and helpful.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel, before continuing on our trip around Italy. On first impression I found the staff at reception a bit abrupt and not too helpful. The location wasnt ideal for our short stay. Breakfast wasnt too bad though. The room was very small, but it did have a balcony which was nice. Overall i don't think I'd recommend it.

Very good location outside Venice centre. The hotel is 5-7 minutes walk from the Vaparetto stop on The Lido. St Mark's Square is just 10 minutes by aporetto and they run all day long. Our room was small and clean, suprisingly bathroom was huge.

Breakfast which was included was good too.

Only con is WiFi reception only in the lobby, although free,

there are some shops and restaurants and even a supermarket close by. A good place
to eat is "La Pizzeria" close to the Vaporetto stop at the start of Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta. We've eaten there several times and service has always been good and friendly, Pizzas are large and good, and there are also good pasta dishes and salads.

Overall this hotel did offer good value for money compared to other hotels in central Venice .

This is an excellent location just outside central Venice. This hotel is only 5mins walk from the Vaparetto stop on The Lido, there are shops close by which include a very cheap supermarket, the closest we found to St Mark's Square. St Mark's Square is just 10mins by boat and they run 24hours a day, even in the low season. Our room was spacious, clean and suprisingly included a balcony with french window. The room had air con and efficient heater with a practical bathroom which included a very small shower, but it was powerful and hot, if a little bit tight for the larger person.

The breakfast which was included was excellent value, if a but strange, all the normal continental stuff you would expect to find in a european hotel, ham, cheese, bread rolls, coffee, but cold pizza and scrambled eggs with peas and sweetcorn was a little odd!

The reception staff were a little chilly upon our arrival, however they answered all our questions and were polite, even if their English was a little weak.

Overall and excellent trip, the hotels in Venice and The Lido are not cheap, however this hotel did offer value for money compared to other hotels in central Venice which we looked at, the journey over the water is nothing to worry about and is actually really nice after a hectic day in the city.

The hotel is only a ten minute walk from the water bus point but it is advisable to get a taxi or horse and carriage if carrying heavy suitcases. It took us a while to find it late at night and after a flight some may prefer (this includes us!)to get there quickly and settle in. The rest of the time it is fine to walk the ten minutes of level pavements to the vaporetto.
The room was clean with a view of the avenue outside. The bedding and towels were lovely. The staff were efficient and pleasant.
The room could have done with a coat of fresh paint.
There was a very small ensuite with jacuzzi bath. This made quite a noise and we were kept awake by the next rooms bath as they prepared to leave at 4 a.m.
The furniture was highly decorated and painted but smelt and looked old inside.(-O.K. for a private house choice but not a 4 star hotel.)
There was no tea /coffee facilities in the room although I presume room service was available at a cost.
Details of where to go / what to see, in the room would have been a nice and useful touch.
Avoid the self service coffee machine in the morning , it isnt good.
Fresh cafetiers at the table would be much better.
The breakfast is contenental, adequate but no cooked breakfast available, which was a disappointment to us.
There was no one in the bar in the evening and the lights were off in the gym .
There are a few garden tables to sit on outside but the hotel was very lacking in atmosphere and more like a B&B on a residential street.

Firstly can i start by saying this hotel is a lovely hotel. The room was large and clean with plenty of space for your clothes. It had extra blankets and pillows and the most comfortable bed ever. I was a little concerned about the toilet however which was right at the side of a window, (although covered with a net), i did feel a little self conscious as you could clearly see through the netting to outside, and did feel that this could be visa versa.

The hotel itself is in a quiet residential area, so quiet you could hear a pin drop, but to be fair this was very very pleasant.

It is about a 5 min walk from the water bus drop off point, however if just arriving it will probably take you 10, but it is very easy to find. Having jumped off the boat, turn right and head over the small bridge, then take the first left, (hotel is signposted down the street). Continue down the street until you reach the cross roads/canal, continue straight ahead and the hotel is on your left about 100 mtrs from the cross road.

The reason for the title is that for me the hotel does not offer the facilities and amenites that a four star hotel would do. The breakfast as already mentioned in other threads is not up to much. There were two cereals to choose from, 3 different types of juice, which was quite good. My husband stated that the coffee was not very good but still drank it. There was no toast or facility to toast any bread. the bread was only bread rolls. There was a small warming plate that contained scrambled eggs, which you had to get as soon as it was put in the heater other wise it would be stone cold. The heater also contained garden peas, cauliflower, and sweetcorn !!!!!!!!!!. There were numerous cakes to pick from and some fresh fruit, but all in all i would say this is not the makings of a 4 star breakfast.
There is no coffee/tea making facilites in the rooms either.

Staff were pleasant enough and always had a smile on their face.

Lido itself at this time of year ( begining of March) is like a ghost town, but we also found this true of Venice. Where does everyone go at night, the place is deserted.

Having said that i thought Venice was a very beautiful and romantic city and would reccommed anyone to go. Just be sure to take enough money with you because it is very expensive, even in the reccommeded 'cheap' restaurants.

We did find a lovely restaurant not far from the hotel, and came reccommended by trip advisor. I think it is called Andios or something like that.( will post name when i find it out). As you exit the hotel, turn right back up to the cross roads. Once there turn left and head down the street. The restaurant is about 300 mtrs down on the left just after another hotel. ( again when i locate the calling card with full details i will post the address). it is closed mon/tues, but is a very pleasant and welcoming restaurant. it must be good as there are pictures of film stars on the walls that have eaten there during the venice film festival.

This hotel is in a good location if you want to be away from the centre of venice, which i can imagine during summer is a nightmare. The transport system is very easy to use and is around 10mins from Lido to venice.

I would reccommend the hotel, but think it should be classed as a 3 star and not a 4 star.
