Can only agree with previous reviewers – a mixed bag describes it perfectly. I have stayed in much better and I have stayed in much worse Hotels. For a 5 star Hotel it remarkably lacking in facilities. No Spa facilities (Hot Tub, Sauna Jacuzzi), No Trouser Press, Iron & Ironing Board, Coffee / Tea tray in Room, Bath Gel, Bath Foam in a room with a shower?? No evening atmosphere at all. The room (not to everyone’s taste apparently) was great – bordering on huge with a side sea view and the quietest Air Con I have ever come across, floor to ceiling mirrors which were polished every day and a very Moorish feel. Mini Bar prices are basically Venice Canal side prices – Euro 7.00 for a soft drink / water. Breakfast was good and served in a vaulted lower ground floor room next to the beach – excellent Smoked Salmon & Prosecco. Dinner – personally I wouldn’t bother. I could have a field day here but won’t needless to say with being overcharged by Euro 38.00 and having a meal presented with mouldy fruit with little or no apology is not 5 star in my opinion – plus you end up spending as much as nights accommodation – my advice skip dinner and stay another night. The Hotel also caters for Weddings and Conferences which is obviously a large part of their income as there was a Wedding (pool closed for this), Volvo Car Launch and American & Italian political conference. Positives – fabulous building and Moorish Courtyard, fabulous pool and pool area with very good Pool Staff, beach location, short journey into Venice, friendly Bar Staff, excellent Concierge & Reception Staff, free private transfers and the Lido itself is a pleasure to walk around. Did we enjoy our stay? Yes. Would we stay again? If in Venice for any length of time probably yes – just to get away from the hustle and bustle. As a standalone return visit just to go to this Hotel probably not.
For a very good meal and reasonably priced come out of the Hotel, turn right and the first left past the Tobacconists and the Restaurant is on your left. Excellent Scallop Ravioli with King Prawns. For lunch / pre dinner drink (with the locals) continue past the Restaurant and at the junction turn right and walk maybe 5-10 minutes towards the town and you will find Bar Bepi. A truly Italian bruschetta and a beer – perfect on a sunny afternoon.

Room Tip: sea view / side sea view

In contrast to some of the previous reviews we found the staff friendly and helpful, if a little low in numbers. This is a huge hotel , and it could be exceptional, but its not. The position is great , the free water taxi brilliant , but this is Cipriani prices. Weak cocktails at 16 euros , pastas at 20 plus . The decor is ... confused . good sized rooms , 70's tiles, 70;s hair dryers , weird electrics , nice pool , yes you can get a boiled egg...... eventually , not sure why there is a 25 minute wait. No Spa facilities . Overall enjoyed the experience but this was a family gathering which helped. There are better hotels in Venice ... but if you want a beach too your options are limited. the general standard of food and wine was good , but the restaurant tries too hard.

My wife and I stayed there when we went to Venice. We would stay here again. We were fortunate enough to stay here on the shoulder month of the end of May. The weather was good. A little rainy. The hotel was amazing. Views of the ocean and the lagoon sandwiched us each day. We had a hotel boat to the other islands. It was great to see St. Marks and other things then sneak away to our own little island of Lido. The island of Lido is worth exploring with incredible restaurants just a quick walk away. It is our must stay hotel next time we are in the wonderful city of Venice.

Room Tip: Breakfast is great. Pick May since the rates are good and the weather isn't bad. Staff is amazin...

I cannot totally agree with some of the recent reviewers, my wife enjoyed a pleasant 5 night stay. A substantial 5 star hotel situated on the beach on the Venice Lido, about 1 mile from the vaparetto stop. Taxi fare to the hotel is about 10 euros. Our room was very large, clean, comfortable and air-conditioned on the 6th floor of the hotel overlooking the city of Venice in the distance. One side the hotel is directly on the beach with lots of cabanas for rent (at a price), to the side there are several pools with loungers (free). On the other side is the dock for the regular complimentary water taxi service to Marks Square. The service operates every 30 mins from 0900hrs to 0000hrs with a short break between 1230hrs and 1430hrs and takes about 20 mins. Our stay was on a bed and breakfast basis, there was lunch and dinner available, but we preferred to take the boat to Venice where there are any number of restaurants to suit your taste. It was strange that a 5 star hotel did not provide a service to carry our bags, show us our room and explain services nor were face flannels provided. The breakfast was the usual self-service buffet, but frustratingly at no time were we offered a menu, so we didn`t realise until our last day that fried or boiled eggs, omelettes or porridge were available and presumably other specials. 5 star means the hotel is not cheap, quite the opposite.

Room Tip: Everything is an extra charge, so make the most of what is free. ie. the water taxi service to Venic...

This hotel has to be, by a very big margin, the WORST hotel we have ever stayed in. As part of a Regent Seven Seas Cruises package we were allocated this hotel (Unfortunately) we had read some very poor reviews on here regarding fires and disgruntled staff and had even been warned off the hotel by close friends that had been previous guests. Our cruise company Regent Seven Seas did not want to hear about any of this when we pre-warned them and asked for our hotel to be changed and so we went, prepared, but clearly not well enough. What greeted us was nothing short of appalling. Our conversations with Regent (via our agents) had clearly been passed through to the hotel as we were greeted by two very nice members of staff promising to make our stay unforgettable .... they have no idea how right they were. We were shown to our room that reminded us of three TV shows of yester-year:- Duty Free, Fawlty Towers and Carry On Abroad. Decor, whilst claiming on literature to be recent, in our room (635) it harked back to the 1970's with bamboo garden furniture creating a sitting area, particularly horrid wallpaper and blue painted fretwork panels to doors, Light switches from the dark ages. I don't remember the last time we saw anything so utterly tasteless. Only plus point was that the bed was quite comfortable, however, the amount of mosquitoes in the room was unacceptable by anyone's standard. We waited an hour for our luggage to be delivered to our room, we collected it ourselves finally as we had limited time to explore Venice. The lobby furniture is domestic level sofas and armchairs appearing to have been left over from a house move, completely mismatched and not what you would expect from a Five Star hotel - there is no coherency to decor anywhere in the hotel. It is clear from talking to staff that they are very demoralised and this comes across in the lack of service .... nobody answering telephone calls - no warmth in greeting or handling of any issue. Ground staff used by the cruise line agreed that it was unacceptable. Some fellow travelers were told that their room would be ready in ten minutes and then had to wait for three hours with no offer of refreshment or apology .... simply not good enough from a 5* L hotel nor from the Cruise companies POV.. If I were the owner of this hotel I would do one of the following: invest several million euro to update the entire place or sell and let someone who cares do it. If you are reading this please re-consider your choice of Hotel. If you are a Regent Seven Seas traveler speak to your agent - they use the HIlton on Guidecca which looks much better - ask to stay there......

Room Tip: choose a different hotel ......

I was here for two days to relax and be able to travel to Venice, with a good promotional price we decided on take this hotel.

This large hotel has most of what you need. Close to Venice with free shuttle boat, okay equipped fitness center, swimming pool, sandy beach etc.

Note, however, that much of the additional services such as sunbeds on the beach, parking, etc. costs a larger additional amount.

The various items and services the hotel offers are mostly on the average. There is therefore not much to complain about, but considering what other hotels offer at a far higher level to a far more reasonable price, I'd think twice before I ordering this highly overpriced hotel.

I would not recommend using the hotel restaurant, unless you dont want to leav the hotel for dinner. The food is ok, the kind you eat at a normal restaurant, but it is not worth the near three times more you pay to eat at the hotel.

Nice place , nice moorish building , nice empty beach , ideal location for a vacation in Venize
But
This is not a 5 star hotel :at all
Room and bathroom are mediocre : old , few bath products ., room linen are average ,
Service is everything but 5 star ( all staff seems bad tempered and not very interested in your stay , everything you ask seems to bother someone )
Breakfast room and buffet looks like cheap holidays tour ...
Beach cabanas are really great but are charged 150 to 200 euros a day , even for hotel clients .

Just after Four seasons in Firenze the difference is just abysmal ....

If you look for 5 stars hotel , this is not the place .
