“Not the best location....”
Reviewed 7 April 2013

Being off the main island, you had to take the ferry everyday - at 7 euros each way, so that was a big expensive. The room was nice, the breakfast was okay, but nothing great. If you want to stay on this island great, but I would rather stay on the main island.

We visited the Atlanta Augustus recently and found it to be a great hotel. The rooms were lovely and clean. The only reasons we didn`t give it a rating of 5 was because of small little things like
1) Scaffolding outside our bedroom window- so no view
2) No hot water- but after we mentioned it, it was sorted
3) Rooms were a bit hot
4) Breakfast adequate but nothing special

These were only small things and definitely did not spoil our stay. With a great location, would recommend to others, .

We wanted a place close to Venice, but not bustling in the crowded streets. We chose a hotel on the Lido - on first appearances, the hotel is not exceptional, the room seemed rather ordinary - almost drab.

We were WRONG - upon opening the shutters, and letting the light into the bright and airy room, it transpired to a magnificent palatial area.

The hotel is close to the regular ferry into St Marks, with Murano and Burano close-by. There are shiops, bars and inexpensive cafes within a few minutes walk - the beach is just 10 minutes walk. Cars are allowed in the Lido, so traveling further afield is not a problem - taxis can also help with the heavy suitcases.

The hotel was brilliant - the breakfast was simple and the location couldn't have been better.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the canal and Venice.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in April for 3 nights. The hotel is conveniently located seven minutes walking distance to the marina, which Vaporetto every 5 minutes, go to the Piazza San Marco.
Room for two was spacious and clean. The hotel staff is very courteous and friendly. Breakfast is modest but tasty. The only negative is a bad Wi-Fi.
On the street near the hotel selling fruit and ice cream ("gelato") on the street.
Very close is a good restaurant "Ristorante Gran Viale"(Granviale Santa Maria Elisabetta, 10)

My mom and I stayed here for two nights in September. Our room was spacious and clean. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. We had some trouble finding the hotel originally but once we knew where we were going, we found it to be in a convenient location near the ferry station.

Stayed here for a week in October in a junior attic suite. An excellent good value hotel in a very convenient location. Lovely view from the balcony. Hotel staff very helpfull and friendly. We bought a weekly season ticket for the water-bus which we made good use of visiting all the islands in the lagoon as well as getting around Venice . Very good value restaurant next door for evening meals. Would recommend this hotel if you are visiting Venice.

Room Tip: Attic rooms more expensive but well worth the extra cost.

Our room, number 308, was large, had a brilliant terrace, and a view from the side window of the canal. The furniture in the room is all hand painted, although it did not have enough wardrobe space for all our clothes. It would be fine for anyone taking a city break, but we were touring Italy so had lots of luggage. The breakfast is adequate continental. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and had a good nights sleep, away from the madness that is Venice round St Marks. We also enjoyed one of the days on the beach, which was very relaxing. We had a special offer where we had 25% off if we stopped 4 nights, which gave us, in effect, the last night free. We bought a 3 day water boat pass, and could easily reach St Mark's square, and Murano, etc. There were plenty of restaurants on Lido. This is a good hotel for anyone who doesn't want to stop in the heart of Venice. Remember to take insect repellent with you for the evening, and antihistimine if you react to bites like I do!
