Typical old hotel where everything reminds you the past. In this regard the elevator is a great example. Even the smell inside the rooms is old like everything else. Small rooms and bathrooms but decently clean. As always you get what you pay for.

Hotel is in a great location not far away (7-10 min walk) from the main Vaporetto station on Lido and the main street.
Great choice for breakfast and you can ask for a cappuccino rather than have the coffee out of the machine.
We hired bikes from the hotel and had a lovely day cycling on the island and stopping off at the beach.
Room was clean and bed was comfortable after long days walking about the city.
Vaporetto day ticket is E20 for 24 hours, we used this to visit the islands of Burano, Murano and Torcello, rather than an organised tour.

Very nice helpful staff, great room, bathroom and breakfast
Close to main shopping street and vaporato stop....but watch out for Taxis here!!!!!biggest rip off EVER, and when I ASKED if I could get UBER here, the staff told me the taxi driver would shoot them!!!! 14 Euros to go 2 blocks with my suitcases..as I am disabled...on checking out I paid one of the staff 10 Euros to help me take my luggage to the vapareto
Also, unfortunately,
I was awakened Saturday night at 1:30 and 3:00 by a group of drunk young Brita and had to tell them to quiet down or I would call the police....the hotel staff was not too helpful

Room Tip: Ask for a room not on a floor with a group of young drunks

We would easily have given four stars to the hotel if we had not been disturbed early in the morning by some kind of idiot who was throwing stones and boxes in some kind of truck each day, just below our window (room 104). In an extremely quiet neighbourhood of the Lido.
Staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. Location is excellent, a 7 minutes walk from the vaporetto. The interior decoration dates from the fifties and has probably never been changed since, but it gives this hotel its distinct feeling. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is better than can be expected from an average Italian hotel.

Nice personnel and very good location in Lido island! Water bus stop is just around the corner. Coop supermarket also on the next street.
Nice restaurants in the area. Cheaper than in the main islands.
Aurora beach area in walking distance.
First time in Venice so don't have experience with other hotels but I think this was a good choice. Not a special day or honeymoon place. :)
Three stars because of not working air conditioning in a very hot room. Chose the economy room just for a good night's sleep but it was difficult because of hotness.

Breakfast
Little bit odd atmosphere. Waiter seemed to be very busy although there weren't many people at breakfast. No-one said where to sit but when you sit somewhere they would kindly ask people to sit on a mother table. Some got asked if they would like to have coffee but most coffees you would have to fetch yourself from a machine. Confusing and not very relaxed situation.
Lots of croissants and pastries, jams and marmalades. Some fresh fruits. Nothing home made or personal. Not very healthy options. No warm dishes.

Room/bed
No safety deposit box.
Don't know if this again problem just to us who live way up in north but a thing you can consider:
The room was very hot! Even though it was may and it rained outside. Maybe 30 degrees inside when we came and didn't get the air conditioning to work. Had an awful noise but nothing happened. Had to sleep with French balcony doors open and next problem was noise from the streets and mosquitos. Also noticed that my clothes were warm from being on the floor. Is there a floor warming on? :D

Economy room is very small! Only for sleeping. No place for big luggage. Nice clean bathroom.
Carpeting on the floor and silky canvas on the walls. No place if you have allergies or asthma like me. Managed ok two nights. :)
Economy room bed was ok to sleep in. Nice flat pillows and a extra one just in case.

Wi-Fi
Worked like a charm in the room.

Stayed: May 2017
