“Clean and well attended.”

There were two people we interacted with. I remember the name Christian from another review made and then there was an evening person (young gentleman). Both were very friendly and helpful. The evening person went out of his way when I mentioned a problem flushing toilet. He did not give up until it was fixed. In fact he went so far as to go to another hotel for the tiniest of screwdrivers in order to reattach the chain behind the wall. No apathy here. Breakfast was continental and more than adequate. Must have been a 20 foot ceiling in room with air-conditioning, the latter being very important for me. Quiet, conveniently close to vaporetto (water-bus) to main island, etc. All this and reasonably priced as well.

Room Tip: We were on the ground level. I'm assuming all were decorated in similar Venetian style. Perfectl...

Us three gals were trying to save some money so we stayed at Lido instead of the heart of Venice. The things that stood out for me were the staff - particularly Cristiano who greeted us with enthusiasm and passion - a true Italian. He made us feel like we were royalty and had such a personable and fun attitude. He insisted we stay for some of his excellent Italian coffee, (which it was) before we headed out to the heart of Venice. He took us up to the roof of the hotel to show us the gorgeous view of Lido. It was a wonderful introduction to Venice.

The only downside, I would say, is that, to save money, we stayed on the bottom floor where it was quite dark. It must have been their basement, so no view or anything. But we didn't really care because we weren't planning to spend any time there, except to sleep, because it wasn't the part of Venice we had come to see. But it was very clean and I was very impressed with how many gluten-free items there were for me to eat at the continental breakfast. The breakfast room was lovely and the staff were very kind and helpful. The grounds are also very nice and there are chairs set up to visit outside. But for me, Cristiano was the one who made it so memorable.

Just as a side note, When you arrive in Venice, it's a little hairy because there are boats and ferries going every which way imaginable. But the hotel does send you directions and tells you which boat to take in an email before you come.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Villa delle Palme which we really enjoyed. I would endorse most of the positive comments made by previous contributors. It is located in a quiet side street - about five minutes walk to the vaporetto terminal in Lido. Staff were pleasant and very helpful - making some excellent suggestions for restaurants both locally and in the centre of Venice. (Trattoria Africa just across the canal at the bottom of the street was particularly good).
The only niggles were 1) a tv set which couldn't receive the main local station RAI1 on which the Euro football games were screened and 2) the smallest shower cubicle I have ever seen in a hotel anywhere. In a fairly small bathroom a bidet is not really necessary - but a decent sized shower is !

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Delle Palme. We stayed 3 nights in May 2012. The grounds were well kept and the hotel was clean. The hotel is on a quiet street and we enjoyed the aroma of the roses growing up and down the street. The staff was very helpful and informative. I thought the hotel was a good value for the price. There was a nice selection of breakfast foods each morning. The only down point is that the shower is really small. We loved the peacefulness of Lido Island and found the shops and restaurants to be charming. I would highly recommend Hotel Delle Palme!

Room Tip: the rooms with the balconies are nice so you can enjoy the fresh air at night

What an oasis of calm and old worldly charm.
We were two lady friends travelling to Venice on a fairly tight budget, but wanted a hotel that offered us a little more than the buget hotels in the centre of Venice. So opted to stay on Lido, we didn't really know if the pictures on the website would be correcet we were not disappointed in the slightest. It was as other reviewers have stated a few minutes walk from the main terminal of S.M.E on lido and a few minutes walk from all the main shops and reaturants. The room that we had was a twin and very spacious (31) and very clean and tidy, the bathroom was clean and as oters have said the shower cubicle may offer a problem as a little on the compact size but it did the job. We didn't have a view, but if you went up to the roof terrace, the views over to st marcos were great. The staff could not do enough for you always there to help with timetables for boats back to the airport, make reservations for you, they managed to get a table reservation for us to go to La Zucca on the evening of my friends birthday even though they had been fully booked, I had managed to get a deal with free Wi Fi and once I had got the passwords etc no problems there. Free safe in the rooms as well and sky tv.
The breakfast was the usual continental style, with plenty to choose from and the coffee was made fresh for you which ever type you wanted and we certainly filled ourselves up each morning before heading out to the vaporreto terminal and heading out into the mayhem each day. On returning from a long day of touring venice, it was so nice to be able to relax in the lovely garden before getting ready for a nice stroll around Gran Viale before going to eat at one one of the many good resturants that one can find on lido. Only negative we could find was the hairdrier allow plenty of time to get ready ladieas as it's not very powerful or as I will next time I go, take my own.
On the whole a throughly enjoyable stay in a lovely reasonable hotel. Would highly recommend it to all.

Room Tip: We had room 31, twin bedded and spacious. 32 and 33 were on the 2nd floor and had better views.

Really nice personable hotel 2 minutes walk fro lido s.m.e.
Close to nice restaurants and shops if not wanting to head over to venice.
Rooms on the small side but absolutely spotless and breakfast had a great selection of pastries , cereal, bread, yoghurt e.t.c
Overall a great experience and throughly enjoyed this small quaint hideaway from venice.
