Location of the hotel was very good, less than 5 mins from the Water bus station, Reception staff were not as helpful as expected, came into contact with two members of staff on different days, one was OK, the other was a little arrogant. Other staff were helpful, we had a room on the third floor, which was small but clean, I asked for an extra pillow, which I am still waiting for. No coffee facilities in the room, WiFi available but chargeable, when I asked to use this, reception staff asked for Money up front! Breakfast was really basic, Coffee was awful, powdered out of a machine! Rolls, toast, Croissants all good, scrambled eggs looked awful! Good location, a very good restaurant across the road called Gran Viale, Supermarket next door. Overall worth what I paid but If I was to pay the advertised price, I would feel hard done by. Good Cheap hotel, I would ignore the 4 Star rating.

Room Tip: Third floor and above-Corner rooms are larger!

The value, via a Travelzoo offer, was unbeatable, and the location was excellent for the vaporetto to Venice. The rooms were acceptable if a little small & very warm. There was plently available for breakfast but the quality was indifferent. Only the croisants & rolls were good & the bacon was Ok..We drank chocolate as the coffee was so poor.

The staff were helpful. The front desk staff were excellent and handy with a corkscrew when needed. The supermarket is very close and has wide range of Italian wine at good prices if you fancy a drink in your room before you go out. The two local restaurants we tried were also very good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room without a sloping ceiling. I requested this when we booked as I was tipped off by other trip advisor reviews

The hotel is quite old but very comfortable. Very clean. Extra pillows and blankets to be had from wardrobe. Rooms cosy and warm. Necessary in winter. Breakfast. The usual for Italy. Plenty of cereals, porridge, fruit, rolls etc. and the usual frankfurters and oily bacon, which my husband loved and had every morning. Plenty of eggs etc. lovely coffee and teas and fruit juices. Very close to the water bus. Fantastic way to get about.

Room Tip: Requested a nice view but didn.t get one

Booked in for a travelzoo schnora deal .Thought as it was 4 star cant be to bad.Very Close to water bus stop so 15 mins to st marks square.
One of the guys on reception was very nice and helpful(he spends allot of time in London) the other was a know it all and very unhelpful if not damn rude.
We were given a first floor coffin that they called a room .Would have expected better in a 2 star let alone a 4 star.Very stuffy and hot even with heating off.The following night offered a much nicer room on second floor and was asked to pay 10 euros more which was fine.So big tip don't take a room on first floor smaller and lower ceilings.
Breakfast was the worst I had ever had apart from Bulgarian 4 star hotels. After fist day gave it a miss and eat at one of the nice places close by.
Anyway morale is you pay peanuts you get.......

Room Tip: go for a corner room and don't what ever you do take one on the first floor

Our second winter trip to this hotel; we were given a very good size room (120). Hotel is clean, comfortable and staff pleasant and helpful. Our bedroom was a bit warm on our first night (it was cold outside) but the heating control adjusted the temperature well. Our deal included free wine. Prosecco was delivered to our room in ice bucket. Lovely. Breakfast is plentiful; fresh bread rolls, ham, cheese, croissants, cereal, fruit, jams, yogurt, teas, coffee, cold drinks etc; ok, the bacon and scrambled egg were luke warm but it was in all a very good self service buffet. The hotel is amazing low season value. You have to factor in water buses (advance booking at venice connected.com) but the hotel is close to the frequent service and it's special travelling to Venice by water each day with commuting locals. Thanks to Broadway Travel for the package and Le Boulevard for an even better stay than last year.
