“Nice, quiet place”
Reviewed 22 April 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for a week in April. The rooms were big, airy and nice with two big windows that you could open. We had a double room but it was in fact two single beds pushed together so they unfortunatelydrifted apart a bit during the night. There was air condition in the rooms but we couldn't figure out whether or not ours was broken as it got very stuffy and hot during the night but too cool in the mornings. We had the windows open a lot instead to cool down the room.

The breakfast in the garden in the morning was really nice: croissants, bread, some sort of lemonade, salami, cheese, ham, coffee/tea and yogurts, however as someone else wrote, the coffee was a bit on the cold side. The owners, especially the lady, were very nice and welcoming. She didn't speak very much English so we had a bit of a hard time communicating sometimes but it worked out.

The location of Villa Angelica was perfect, it's on the island of Lido which was great as we thought it was very crowded and busy in central Venice. Lido is a quiet island, much less tourists, a really nice Main Street with good restaurants and shops. The hotel is very close to the vaparetto (boat-bus) stop.

Overall I would recommend Villa Angelica, great location, friendly staff, good breakfast and reasonably priced.

is a nice, confortable place to stay. I advice everyone who goes to Venice to check-in in Lido, is cleaner and suitable for walks in the evening, after a busy day in Venice.
At Villa Angelica we found nice staff, good breakfast, confortable room.
I most certainly recommend it!!

My mother and I stayed here for 6 days in October. The location was wonderful after exploring the busy and magical city of Venice as we had weekly vaporetto passes. We just hopped on the water bus and in 20 minutes we were in the lovely island of Lido for the evening. The villa has large, comfortable and clean rooms overlooking a quiet garden area. Breakfast is served in the garden. One suggeston would be to ensure the coffee urns are filled with hot coffee when neccessary as the coffee was mostly lukewarm. No problem to get a good espresso or cappuccino in a local coffee bar on the way to the water bus stop though ( about a 10 minute walk away ! )

Room Tip: The rooms on the upper floor would be a little quieter as the ones on the bottom would be near the b...

We were surprised by this lovely b&b. It is located in a safe, quite, beautiful area in Lido di Venezia. The b&b looks like an enchanting storybook house. Everything clean, everything working, lady in charge extremely welcoming and nice. There is only one man who speaks English, but we rarely saw him, but still no problem as we got by just fine with the lady. We loved having an amazing breakfast tray brought to us in the morning. Truly an amazing b&b experience! Would recommend and would definitely stay again!

Liked: APPEARANCE, CLEANLINESS, HOSPITALITY AND SERVICE, BREAKFAST, QUIET AND BEAUTIFUL LOCATION WITH PLACES TO EAT AROUND.

Not so much: IT TOOK A BIT TO GET FROM LIDO DI VENEZIA TO THE OTHER ISLANDS.

We arrived on a saturday evening at this hotel. A nice but non-english speaking lady gave us a notice stating that our pre-paid room was not honoured for that night due to an unexpected pipe problem. Miracously the issue was resolved the following day at checking out time of other guests.
They offered us another room in hotel Villa Paradiso, in other location over 6km at the end of the Lido island. No transport offered as they suggested we could take a bus or drive there at our own expense.
Hotel Villa Paradiso might be on the same category but clearly inferior quality and miles away from vaporeto and main restaurants of Lido.
The room we were given for the following two days in Villa Angelica was quite nice but a bit dust smelly.

I clearly can not recommend this hotel as, even if there was not an overbooking situation as I think it was, they did not provide us transportation to the alternative hotel or any compensation at all.

Fine, warm and welcoming hotel during a cold February week in Venice. Very friendly and multilingual staff; comfortable room with views of garden and vineyard; filling breakfast delivered with a smile to the room during winter.
Good, quiet location, 5 minutes stroll from beach, ferry terminal and shops.
Good base for visiting the Venice Carnival, only 10-15 minutes away by ferry.

The Hotel Villa Angelica is an extremely clean and very charming beautiful villa, conveniently located and for the price an unbelievable bargain. We would recommend this place to everyone. The staff is the most helpful we have ever met in all of our years of traveling. We are looking forward to coming back again.

Room Tip: It is conveniently located to the water taxi, restaurants and shopping

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Villa Angelica is a magnificent building dating from the early nineteen hundreds, located on the enchanting island of Lido di Venezia and just a stone's throw away from the famous Palazzo del Cinema and the beaches. The hotel, that has recently been totally restored, is just a short walk away from where it is possible to board the main water buses that will take you to the historical centre of Venice (St. Mark's Square, the Rialto bridge and the Biennale) and its islands (Murano, Burano, Torcello). Villa Angelica is a small crenellated fortress that, with its refined furnishings, recalls Venice's historical links with the Orient. The building is surrounded by a private park where, when the climate is warmer, it is possible to start your day with a wholesome breakfast, or find total relaxation under the shade of the laurels, palms and bamboos after a day's sightseeing. This friendly and professional family-run establishment is owned by Amedeo and Nicole who, along with their staff, will attend to your every need in order to make you feel totally at home and render your stay in this romantic Hotel as comfortable as possible. ... more   less
