“Cozy, clean and very helpful staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2009

We arrived very late at night and were welcomed by Angela the Villa caretaker who made us feel very welcome. We had two ground floor rooms, one for two and the second for three adults and they were very clean and adequate for our 3 night stay. Breakfast was continental, coffees, juice, cereal, rolls, cheese spread and jam etc., but sufficient and is served in your rooms or in the garden at your request. You just complete a little form the night before to make your breakfast/where to eat selection. The web site does make the rooms and garden area look larger than it is, but this did not spoil our stay. The reception staff are so helpful and go the extra mile to help you with areas of interest, which boats to catch, arrange bookings for you. The 3 minute walk to the Villa does actually take longer, about 10 mins, but it is a pleasant walk. As a guide, look at the lamposts for the road signs, not on the sides of houses! The only criticism would be the noises from the water pipes or air con in the night, but you are so exhausted from walking so much around Venice, you sleep through anything! We would definitely recommend a stay at the Villa and hope to go again soon.

We stayed 4 days in the villa, rented 2 double rooms, which were clean, nice and big enough. We had a wonderful time there! Breakfasts were served in a garden with roses. In general the position of the villa is perfect for visiting Venice, it's only 10 minutes by boat to St. Marco place, some minutes walk from the boat station and the center of Lido.
The stuff was very friendly.
I would definitely recommend this villa

We stayed for a couple of days in April. The hotel is in a quiet location but close to the shops and cafes of the Lido. The room ('Orchidea') was quite small but very clean and entirely satisfactory. The owners took the trouble to communicate before our stay by email and were very helpful with travel arrangements. While not particularly cheap, the hotel rates were very attractive compared to those on the main island.
The Lido was a convenient location, providing you have a travel card for the vaporetti, and was a welcome refuge from the crowds.
I would stay here again.

This little B&B, located on the island of Lido, was a great bargain! Though low on amenities, it served its purpose as a place to collapse after a long, hot day of exploring Venice. Breakfast was included in the price although we never had any there because the patio was always "too full." We refused the offer of breakfast in our room because the air conditioning was substandard, leaving the room exceptionally warm. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay but have learned to stick to brand name hotels on our next trip to Italy.

  • Liked — Great price.
  • Disliked — No amenities, i.e. soap, tissues, refrigerator, hair dryer, internet access

Good value and not far from Piazza San Marco, 10 min. walk + 15 min. (3 stops) by Vaporetto. Also good connections from/to the S.Lucia trian station, where we picked up a Venice card providing prepaid transport (buy on-line in advance). The card allowed us to vist multiple churches and soak in the wonderful atmosphere and art. Murano is well worth a visit to see coloured glass products.

We stayed four nights here. Located in Lido on a quiet, peaceful street just 5 minutes walk from the ferry port. The B&B has seven rooms in a lovely building. The room itself was a good size and very clean with a fridge and simple decor. Also had a good shower and a free safe. The breakfast is simple (bread, cheese & cornflakes and good coffee) and you can choose to have it in the garden or in your bedroom.

We would very much recommend this B&B as an escape from the hustle & bustle of Venice and for the very warm hospitatlity of the owners - nothing is too much trouble.

Villa Angelica is a magnificent building dating from the early nineteen hundreds, located on the enchanting island of Lido di Venezia and just a stone's throw away from the famous Palazzo del Cinema and the beaches. The hotel, that has recently been totally restored, is just a short walk away from where it is possible to board the main water buses that will take you to the historical centre of Venice (St. Mark's Square, the Rialto bridge and the Biennale) and its islands (Murano, Burano, Torcello). Villa Angelica is a small crenellated fortress that, with its refined furnishings, recalls Venice's historical links with the Orient. The building is surrounded by a private park where, when the climate is warmer, it is possible to start your day with a wholesome breakfast, or find total relaxation under the shade of the laurels, palms and bamboos after a day's sightseeing.
