A stressed out, obnoxious waiter looked around the patio and said he could do nothing, the place was full. It was not, he was just being lazy - talked to us so rudely, regarded us with such disdain we thought maybe it was our clothes (no, everybody was dressed similarly) - he was just a meanie. If you must go, make a reservation first. Lots of nice restaurants within walking distance, they're just not directly on the water which is what has this overpriced establishment spoiled. It's raining, so I guess he'd have plenty of room and a better attitude for us now.

Nice service: they opened early just for our party of ten! View is lovely, but windows a bit too high inside to appreciate. View is best on patio, but can be chilly. Servings are smaller than we are used to in America. Spinach side dish was to die for, swimming in butter, etc and so delicate! Food was good, higher than average price on Lido but with view of Venice across the lagoon, a great value compared to typical Venice restaurant (most near San Marco Square are way overpriced and not very good)! This restaurant is part of a hotel that sits on the water. I have not seen in the rooms, but the lobby looks nice. Our standby fave is Hotel Riviera, just one block down from Villa Laguna and right across street from vaporetta and bus station. (Can be noise from buses but this hotel is charming and reasonable, about 150 euros per night if you negotiate.

We were staying in the hotel for 3 nights so decided to eat at the hotel once & sample the local restaurants the other 2 nights. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The menu did not change. The scallop risotto was delicious

Terrific service and one the best meals we had in Italy. The black risotto with cuddle fish was terrific.

Well this was a surprise. Walked in off the street. Staff could not be more helpful. Food was good but the team at the Laguna could not be more welcoming. On a cold November night you don't think of the view but the food was excellent. Will definitely return.
