Residence Le Ville del Lido
Ranked #1 of 33 Hotels in Lido di Venezia
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 28 July 2011

Visited this hotel as part of a 3.5 week European adventure for our 25th wedding anniversary. Venice was our starting point, and we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights pre a 12 day cruise leaving from Venice. Out of all the places we travelled, we would go back tomorrow to Lido and stay at this hotel.
Upon arrival at 8 pm, our reservations could not be located by Hotel management.
Looking weary after a delayed 10 hr. flight, that left 5 hours later than expected, missing our direct water taxi stop for Lido, having to get off in Venice, to go back to catch a water bus, lugging our luggage up & down the steps of Venice, arriving in Lido 6 hours later than expected with no vehicle taxi to take to our destination, meant having to take the Lido City bus - Italians that spoke no english were GREAT - showed them the Hotel we were going to, with sign language welcoming us to join them on the bus, and then ringing for us to get off - in the dark getting off the bus, with no street lights and no signs for the Hotel; we turned left, instead of right; arriving at the Hotel @ 8:30 PM - the first thing the Hotel Mgr asked me, was what type of wine we would enjoy! I took the white, while hubby had the red.
The Hotel Mgr proceeded to tell us, they did not have a reservation for us and unfortunately they were filled for tonight - Sat.-except for an emergency room that keep for their staff. I asked if it was clean and with hot water - I just wanted a shower! It was, but it was in the basement - of course! We took it - the Hotel Mgr helped hubby down the beautiful winding staircase (of course no elavator) to our room. By this time it was after 9 PM and were starving. Hotel Mgr provided directions to walking distance restuarants and off we were - in the dark, unlight back streets of Lido, having no ideal where we were going. Took the Hotel advice for dining, at a great rest., that had a back garden area - just what we needed.
The next morn, a different Hotel Mgr noted there was a mix up between Expedia and the 3rd party Italian travel agency they use, and there would be no charge for last night.
Our plans for Sunday were to travel into Venice and sightsee - which we did, after enjoying the included breakfast. The hotel staff moved us from the basement room to our booked garden room on the 2nd floor. Upon arriving back after our sightseeing day, we were warmly welcomed by all, and our suite had a beautiful, separate bedroom with a large bathroom and loads of cupboards, and a large sitting and dining area with fridge, kettle, toaster. We felt like we had arrived home - it was a lovely feeling.
Staff once again provided us with great recommendations for dining, sightseeing on Lido, and the back area waters of Venice.
It was an experience we loved, and the best way to start our adventure.
We will be back, hopefully very soon, to enjoy this hotel's gardens, rooms and gracious hosts!

Stayed here the first week of June. The resort is on Lido Island and the reason I was staying here instead of Venice is so that I could drive up to the hotel with passengers and luggage. The resort is very nice, with an attractive pool and outdoor jacuzzi. The rooms are moderate size (for a 2 bedroom apartment) and well maintained, although not particularly modern in decor. A smallish kitchenette and dining area completes the set up. There is satellite tv (a tiny crt!) with limited Italian language channels. WiFi is available, but you can only really get a signal at the reception area and not in your apartment. Breakfast by the pool or in the basement dining room, according to weather, was well supplied with good variety. Parking on site is free.

A nice stay but quite pricey for what we were getting.

I spent some days here with my familiy. The location is exellent for the beach and for visiting Venice. About a ten minute walk to the boat to Venice and just across the road to the beach.
We had a suite with to bedrooms and bathrooms and a living room with kitchen. Also a small "private" garden with chairs and where you can dry your towels, bathing suite. Exellent for a family.
The boat to Venice only tolk a few minutes. We spent one part of the day at the beach or by the pool and the other part of the day in Venice. It was nice to return to Lido after a day in Venice as it is a much calmer place and less crowded.
We hadn't much to do with the staff, but they seemed nice and helpfull.
All in all, I couldn't be more happy with my stay at Lido de Ville.
But I did miss having Wi-Fi in the appartment and I missed wine glasses in the kitchen :-)

Le Ville Del Lido suites are a fantastic option for those wanting to see all the sights of Venice, then come home to a relaxed, peaceful environment.

To get to the Lido suites from the main train station/waterbus station is about 40-60 mins ride by boat. Then a couple mins by bus, or an easy 10 min walk. But once your on Lido, all the best bits of Venice are just a 15 min ride away, and the boats run so frequently!

We saved heaps staying on Lido, as Venice city is quite pricey. For 4 people our top floor suite was perfect: two decent sized, well lit rooms, two bathrooms, a lovely lounge/meals area, and we cooked meals in our cute kitchenette. The pool and gardens are also very beautiful and overall the whole place is very clean and well maintained.

We stayed at Le Ville Del Lido from 18 April 11 for 7 days and had a fantastic time. The appartment was perfect for us (2 young children - 7 & 9 years old). It was very clean and there were fresh towels every day. The decor does look a bit dated, but it is very well maintained. The garden was an added bonus and the pool, whilst a bit cold, was lovely. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the water bus, but it is a pleasent stroll and makes sure that the location is very peaceful. It is literally just across the road from the beach and that is a real bonus with young children. Reception was fine but we had really little contact with the owners. It is the perfect location for families to enjoy going into Venice for a bit each day, but then returning after a few hours sightseeing to go to the beach / pool. I would highly recommend the 50 Euro all in travel passes available for all the water buses - it must have saved us a fortune.

Room Tip: Take a taxi from water bus stop - it is worth it!

We stayed here for 4 days having won the package on Ebay. Cannot say enough about the cleanliness, the warm welcome we had and the room. When you buy cheap packages on Ebay you have an expectation that the cheaper it is the worse it is going to be. Not this one! This exceeded our expectations by far. Good base for exploring Venice although it is a little walk back from the vaperetto stop but worth every penny. I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone. The Hotel was Clean, and the Breakfast was over and above normal standards and very fresh too!
