“Lovely place to stay on the Lido, away from the crowds of Venice”
Reviewed 8 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The apartment was recommended to me by a business colleague and it was everything we expected. Overall this is a great choice for a Venice holiday apartment. The apartment was clean and tidy, plus a good location in a quiet residential area of the Lido, with uninterrupted views of the sea and distant views of Venice from the bedroom balcony.

Being on the Lido and a few minutes bus ride from the Lido S.M.E. vaporetto terminal means that outings needed to be planned, taking up to 45 minutes to get to some locations in Venice and an hour to the main islands. However, it was lovely to wake up to an empty, sandy beach (in September), watch the ships passing at night, and have some fantastic local shops nearby, for tasty Italian delicacies and fruit. It also made an excellent retreat when the crowds in Venice, made worse by the number of cruise ships in harbour, became too much.

Access from Marco Polo Airport is easy (albeit quite a walk with bags) using the Alilaguna water bus, which takes about 1 hour and we were met on arrival there and escorted to our apartment by a helpful friend of the owner. Consider buying the ACTV Tourist Travel Card on arrival, which at first glance seems eye-wateringly expensive. But you can use it on the bus to the apartment, and throughout your stay. It allows unlimited tours up and down the Grand Canal on the No.1 service, and frequent services to the main lagoon islands directly from Lido S.M.E., plus the local Lido buses, so it will get plenty of use.

If you want to visit the Doge's Palace, I suggest you get up early and catch the frequent bus and vaporetto services to Piazza San Marco, to be at the Palace by the time it opens at 8:30. We didn't have to queue for long to get in and we had the place almost to ourselves for a few minutes to take photos in the courtyard.

After seeing the Doge's Palace, use your inclusive ticket to visit the Museo Correr at the opposite end of St Mark's Square, where you will find a café at reasonable enough prices and, if early, a table with a view over the Square.

“Beautiful Apartment and Great Location”
Reviewed 24 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Great vacation!!! We had such an amazing time at Lorenzo's beautiful apartment. All of the balconies with the views were so relaxing. Went to sleep with the sound of the Sea every night. You could totally tell we were tourists, the only ones swimming in the Sea and without jackets at night, but we didn't care. It is so easy to get to. The A,B,C,& N bus drops you off about a block away. It is stop 7/12 on the bus from the water-bus dock. Ester met us at the terminal and showed us to the apartment. Such a nice person. She showed me how to make coffee and the code for the internet. My boyfriend said she has a place to stay, if she ever wants to come to the US to visit. My boyfriend walked to the bakery every morning and got fresh pastries. That was about 3 blocks away. We also took the bus to the grocery store and stocked up, which is the same bus stop for the water bus terminal. We didn't eat at many restaurants because we cooked, but there are plenty around to choose from. Did have gelato every night though. The only complaint I would have, and is my own fault for not asking, is that I couldn't figure out the washer/dryer combo. It was all foreign to me. Haha I did manage to wash clothes and hung them to dry. Should have asked Ester. I hope to get back to Lido before 20 more years, and if I do, I'm definitely booking Lorenzo's apartment!!!

“Stayed here again, still fantastic”
Reviewed 14 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

I would absolutely recommend this for people who would love to visit Venice but want a quiet beach break in an apartment.

The apartment is lovely. Close to great restaurant, Pizzeria 161, and high quality delicatessen and wine shop close-by.

You can see Venice from the rear balcony and the beach from the front balcony.

A great place to stay. I can thoroughly recommend.

“Fantastic apartment in a great location”
Reviewed 2 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Spent a week here in June and had a brilliant time. A balcony at the front overlooks the beach and from the bedroom balcony you can see Venice. The apartment is fully equipped and comfortable. Communication with the owner was excellent. I would highly recommend this apartment to couples or families.

“Beaufiful, clean apartment beside beach with amazing views”

Location
About 30 minutes walk from the vaporetto (water bus stop) or about 5 minutes on the local land bus, which run frequently. The apartment is in the quieter bit of town, opposite the beach. We took the Alilaguna blu boat from the airport to Lido then were met by the very kind Betty who escorted us by land bus to the apartment - 5 minute bus ride and 5 minutes walk. Betty had kindly brought cold bottles of water for our two grateful children!!!

Local amenities
There are shops about 5\10 minutes walk away on Via Sandro Gallo - high quality deli, fruit and veg shop and wine shop. All of which we can highly recommend - friendly service, reasonable price unbelievably quality food and drink. Restaurants - there is a beach bar café across the road from the apartment, Casual, reasonably priced. Can go in wearing sandy beach clothes and swimming costumes during the day to order drinks and ice lollies etc. Pizza etc. served at lunch time and then again later from about 6pm. Good quality. Our favourite restaurant was Ristorante Pizzeria 161 on Via Sandro Gallo. The apartment is just across the road from the beach. You can either pay to use the private beach 27 euro per day for 2 sunbeds and umbrella or walk a few blocks down to your right to the free beach.

The apartment
Very clean with fresh clean bedding. Mixed modern and traditional feel - artfully decorated - an absolute pleasure. Air-conditioning in living room and hall. Spacious enough for family of 4 to live comfortably on holiday. Washing machine\fridge\hob\microwave\dishes\stove top coffee pots. Can live and eat in the apartment easily. The apartment is on the 6th floor, but there is an elevator. There are balconies all round the apartment so you can either sit out at the front, watching the beach and the sea, or out the back with a view of St Marks square. Stunning!

The general service
Lorenzo was very helpful with information - couldn't ask for more.

Bad points
Having to leave! We will be back!!!
