My husband and I were long timers at this location ( 10 months)!! We had such a wonderful experience. The staff is super friendly and really make you feel welcome. They are also very accomodating to any reasonable requests. Don't be afraid to ask! They are super dog friendly which also made for a great time. Once we had a flat tire and they put air in it before we even knew. Highly recommend this location.

I moved with my husband, our two young children, and our dog to Idaho Falls from abroad at the beginning of the year. We stayed at Candlewood for 6 weeks, the time it took us to find, buy, and move into a house. We stayed in a suite which consisted of an open kitchen and living room area, and a seperate bedroom (and bathroom, of course.) The hotel is new, so the decor is pleasant - warm yet contemporary. The kitchen was great; there was a full-height fridge, a large microwave, a dishwasher and more cupboards than you would expect in a hotel room. There was also a table/desk that was large enough for the four of us to eat at, and on the other side the living room area had a pull-out sofa, an armchair, a coffee table, and a good-sized flat-screen TV with free cable and a DVD player. The bedroom aso had the same TV, a small desk, and closet. There was a second closet across from the kitchen. My husband and I took the bedroom and our children slept in the living room area, with one on the pull-out couch and the other on a fold-up bed that Laura (the manager) brought in especially for us.

There were lots of nice extras staying at this hotel. Unlike certain places that we've stayed at, where the charges pile up like crazy (one place in San Francisco actually charged us per day - as hotel guests- to use the hotel parking lot), Candlewood didn't charge us for many things we needed on a daily basis. They had free washing machines and dryers, free local calls, DVD's (and books and games) to borrow for free at the front desk, and free passes to a local athletic club with a swimming pool. They also have a small self-serve grocery store open 24 hours/day, which is very convenient for those times that you need something to eat, laundry detergent, aspirin, etc.

As I mentioned, Laura had a fold-up bed brought in especially for our son. This was typical of the staff at Candlewood; they were always going the extra mile to meet our needs and keep us happy. When I wanted a conventional oven, there was one I could borrow for the duration of our stay. When I needed a hand-held mixer, someone ran home and got one for me to use. The afore-mentioned fold-up bed came with kid-friendly bedsheets expressly bought for the occasion. There were kid-friendly games that were purchased upon our arrival. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful; I'm sure I'm forgetting half the nice things they did for us as I write this. Our children also really liked them and vice-versa.

We were thrilled to be able to bring our dog with us. He was treated with kindness, and there was a convenient spot to take hime out located behind the hotel with the necessary pick-up bags and trash cans. Beyond that spot is a very long trail that follows the river, very convenient for walking your dog. Of course, having dogs at the hotel did not affect cleanliness, which was impeccable.

Obviously I was extremely pleased with our stay and have only positive things to say about Candlewood Suites in Idaho Falls.

A very nice Hotel nearly new but also very well maintained. The staff was extremly friendly and the hotel has a kind of Mini - Grocery store where you buy things for normal prices. The rooms a very nice and confortable the noice level from the street is okay as they double glassed windows.

The location is okay and easy to find would stay there any time again

The property is near-new, in excellent condition. The staff is very friendly and anxious to help. There is no breakfast. Location is OK as far as proximity to Idaho Falls downtown, it's in an area of redevelopment and probably with time will be surrounded by lots of nice development. The area is safe. Biggest problem was with the noise, both from nearby trains (switching cars, the trains use horns to signal) and the street was fairly noisy. I recommend this hotel but only if the noise doesn't bother you.

I travel several times a year to Idaho Falls and always dread the lousy food and trashed environment of this drab town. Now I have an option. I stayed for a week and enjoyed every day. The motel is located in a post-industrial landscape on the Snake River -- not so scenic but next to the Snake River greenbelt trail system. The good sized rooms have kitchens that permit you to make your own food -- no oven however. Beds are great as is large screen TV, DVD player and good collection of FREE recent release movies. Super fast ethernet connections for your laptop but no wifi. Double bed rooms bigger than single bed rooms for same rate. Good exercise room and FREE laundry. Best part is incredibly friendly, professional staff. Good rates including very competitive government rate. Quiet except for RR trains in night. Best motel I've been in for years and perfect for business traveler trying to eat right and stay in shape.

We stayed at this property on two separate occasions within one week of each other, one night each. We are a family of three, with one teenager, and we like having a suite to spread out a bit.
The space in the suite is fairly-well-proportioned. The kitchen area is oversized compared to most hotel suites, with a full-size fridge, small cook-top, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, pots and pans and dishes for four. There was even a pantry in addition to the usual kitchen cabinetry. There is a large table/desk area separating the kitchen from the living area, which, along with the bedroom, suffered a little in size due to the large kitchen area. There is a nice-sized coat closet just inside the door and a laundry basket was supplied. The bathroom is a decent size for the type of room. Not overly large, but not too cramped, either. The bedroom was just large enough to house a queen-sized bed, small dresser with flat-screen tv, small desk and one nightstand. The living area included a full-sized sleeper sofa, coffee table, reclining chair and dresser/tv stand also with a flat-panel television. Two straight-backed chairs were positioned at the dining area/desk and one additional straight-backed chair was in the bedroom at the desk.
In general, it was a nice set-up but I got the feeling that this hotel was designed for single business travelers rather than families.
There is only one air conditioner/heater unit positioned under the window in the living area and the bedroom definitely suffered from lack of ventilation. While our teen was freezing on the couch, we were suffering from overheating in the bedroom. The only way of accessing any ventilation in the bedroom, aside from opening the window the small amount (about six inches) allowed, was a fan unit high in the wall between the living and dining area which would only come on when the climate control unit was running in the living area. Even a ceiling fan in the bedroom would have helped tremendously.
This hotel does not offer daily housekeeping. A small sign on the bathroom counter indicated that housekeeping is done weekly and that if fresh towels or sheets are needed, one can stop by the front desk for an exchange.
We were informed upon check-in that self-service laundry machines are available at no charge, although we did not make use of them.
There is a work-out room on site, contrary to what their own website lists. I cannot recall if there was a swimming pool or not. Best to call the property directly to check on that if important as their website does not list it. There is a nice barbecue area with picnic table under a gazebo-like structure near the front parking area.
There are no free breakfasts or evening happy hour features at this hotel. They do have a small convenience shop with a few grocery items in stock.
The front desk staff was quite welcoming and helpful with our questions.
Wireless internet access was provided at no charge.
Overall, we were pleased with our stay at this fairly-new property. Very clean, good service, nice space. The biggest issue was the climate control, but we were able to deal with that for one night at a time. Perhaps if we'd stayed longer, we would have asked for a fan.
