This place made "average" by virtue of a very low price which gave it an average dollar value. It's apparently being milked and it's about dry. So much potential wasted! It's not a terrible location--right across from a golf course and fairly convenient to downtown. There is an attractive courtyard in enclosed in the large, rectangular facility. I'm told that there is a pool somewhere (I didn't see it) and a spa (same). There was NO refrigerator or micro-wave or coffee pot. The common theme is "delayed maintenance". I gather from the (Formerly Littletree Inn) that it has recently changed hands. I don't know what the new owner's business plan is, but apparently it's to milk the place and dump it. Too bad because, from a casual glance, it would seem to have great potential.

Our family (myself, DH and DS) recently visited Idaho Falls to hook up with a friend. Like other reviewers, I was a bit dubious about the Pinecrest Inn, but it was a last minute trip and saving money was a priority. We found the Pinecrest to be satisfactory on most counts. It is an older property, probably dating back to the late 1950's/early 1960's, used to be called the "Little Tree." Our room was very spacious and had a "mini-kitchenette" with a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker and sink. The bathroom was perfectly clean and we got a kick out of the "old school" fixtures. The courtyard in the middle of the complex was pleasant and inviting and we could access it easily through a sliding glass door in the back of the room. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well (an important thing 'cause DH is one of those guys who sweats easier than most).

We didn't hang out in our hotel room much during our 2-night stay, so we didn't make use of their other on-site facilities like pool, cocktail lounge, etc. We spent most of our time in IF at the nearby Heise Hot Springs, which I'll review later. The only real complaint I have about the Pinecrest Inn is that the maintenance staff needs to pay more attention to details like overflowing trash cans, debris in the flowerbeds, scuff marks on the walls, stuff like that. Oh and next time they paint, I hope they choose a different shade from the "baby poop yellow" that presently "adorns" the exterior.

If we ever have a chance to return to Idaho Falls, we would consider staying at the Pinecrest Inn again.

We ended up here because the first hotels we checked couldnt get us in until and we were exhausted. I checked reviews and so nothing but positives so we headed over. I was hesitant when we drove up but the reviews said it was old, which isnt bad, but run down and dirty is bad... Now i wonder if there's another place with the same name.

Pros: very nice staff, nice courtyard. Has pool and spa (though I couldn't see them). Good sized rooms. Around the corner fom Morenitas, a delicious Mexican restaurant.

Cons: Dirty. The sheets were clean but that was about it. The walls and chairs were stained. The rooms are dark. The hallway carpets are threadbare. Some of the hallway windows facing the parking lot were broken. And we paid about the same as what the hotels by the falls were charging.

Stayed for a night during a road trip. Rooms were a bit dated in their decor, and the bathroom was a bit cramped, but it was perfectly fine. A bit out of the way from the highway, but otherwise fine.
