Motel 6 Idaho Falls

First we were sent to a room that had not been cleaned....after a long day of driving, it's not fun to have to change rooms! Front desk staff very accommodating. Rooms have been renovated but already looking tired. Oh, and talk about thin walls!!! Our next door neighbor's phone alarm started at about 3:30 a.m.....just on vibrate, mind you.....but went on snooze and then kept going off every 8 minutes or so keeping me awake for an entire hour.....and this from the other side of the wall!!

Room Tip: Maybe at the end of the hall would cut down on the possibility of being awakened by your neighbors...

Inside the room was actually OK. It seems to have been recently updated and is better than I expected. The hall way is kind of gross. It has a stale cigarette smell (even in the non-smoking area - which is where I stayed). My daughter went in the pool and enjoyed it. My low rating is mostly due to the smell of the hallway and the walls are SO thin. I could hear every hallway conversation and my neighbors' next door too.

Room Tip: If you're looking for quiet, good luck.

Used as overnight stopover on drive home. Great location along side freeway and lots of food options in the area. Basic hotel and room but good value for a quick stop. Rooms do not have carpet, hard surface instead but did result in any problems.

I stay in Motel 6's when I am on the road and they are all different. Some have gone thru updates, others not. This one was a pleasant surprise as even the updates here are above the other updated ones. Nice bamboo floors, big room, corner booth & table was so comfy for computer setup and eating & watching TV. Nice built in wall TV that had connectors even on a shelf below if you wanted to hook up your own DVD player. Shoe rack with a towel and mat for wet shoes. Modern vanity and walk in shower. Motel 6's never offer in room frig's but I get by using the ice machine and my own cooler. Restaurant next door. Usual AM coffee in the lobby.
Very friendly front desk.
Some Motel 6's give free Wi-Fi, others do not. This was my 3rd Motel 6 in a row on this trip and
when I mentioned this they asked for my AARP card and gave me free Wi-Fi. I am almost always happy with Motel 6 when I am on the road as I know what to expect as far as comfort, cleanliness, location and price for a night's stay. But this one was a surprise and I would have been happy to have spent several nights here.

We stayed here many times before the mass "renovation" It was acceptable. Now the rooms look like old 50's dumps. The beds look like roll-a-ways. The shower had tape on the floor where it had a crack. Instead of a nice dresser they had some metal kitchen table like thing with plastic chairs. The bedding was old and wore out. The sheets had fuzzballs on them. The coverlet looked like it had been sewn by middle schoolers. And what motel charges for WIFI now? Ridiculous! The fire alarm kept going off in the middle of the night along with Linoleum floors that were cold and digusting. Nice new carpet in the hall...why didn't they put it in the rooms? They did give you a towel to wipe your wet feet do your socks wouldn't get wet walking across the floor. The heater was horribly noisy. I have never complained about a room, but this one was the worse one I have every stayed in, but the staff was nice.

Room Tip: Don't go there. I never will again.

This is a great hotel if you travel with pets. The hotel is very accommodating.the rooms are basic but clean. There is an area to walk your dogs, the front desk offers cookies and towels for your pooch! Also the hotel is located near restaurants and grocery stores.

My wife and I stopped late needing a good sleep. The room beside us turned on their TV at 04:00, no sleep from then on.
The halls stank of stale smoke. The room had the background stench of smoke.
I will not make the same mistake again
