The greenbelt has definite potential and we found some lovely spots, but a construction closure through a central portion marred the experience. Idaho Falls is kind of down at the heels and a bit deserted in places and I would not have felt comfortable walking or biking it alone. There are great views of the many falls along the river and much of the public art along the route is really enjoyable.

We stopped here for awhile on our visit to Idaho Falls. It was neat how the Greenbelt Trail ran parallel to the waterfalls. Be sure to follow the trail to the start of the falls and get a photo with the Idaho Falls Temple in the background!

Stumbled across this Greenbelt after dinner in Idaho Falls. We crossed the street and followed the path past the power plant, then we returned and explored the Japanese Garden. Then we crossed the street again and walked through the park looking at the falls and checking out the benches for seating, all of which were pieces of art work. Well worth the time.

Sunday night we went for a family walk along the greenbelt. I had been here before years ago, but I noticed this time a lot of fun quirky art installations and unique benches. The views of the falls and the LDS temple across the river are beautiful. Bring your camera!

This river walkway is full of trees, wildlife and beautiful scenes not to mention beautiful scenery. If your in the area it is worth the time it takes to walk around and enjoy.
