I saw Chaps, very funny play for the whole family. Everybody there, the cast and all, are very friendly. The place is well kept, very clean. The cast also goes out into the streets to advertise, they are so funny, I was in a pizza place and all of a sudden they came in singing. You cannot go wrong with this play house. The play lasted about 90 with intermission. For entertainment in the evening this is one of your best bets.

“A fun family night”
Reviewed 26 July 2011

We didn't expect a musical, but that's what we got when we went to Chaps. Lots of cowboy songs....some fun, some really pretty. The actors were all really talented and worked hard to put in a good show. Our party of 10, 4 adults and 6 teenagers, all enjoyed the show.

“Great entertainment for a great price”
Reviewed 17 July 2011

We (two adult couples) attended both shows--Chaps! and The Drowsy Chaperone--while in West Yellowstone for four days. This is a newer playhouse and everyone is working really hard to make a go of it. The actors also sell tickets, run concessions, and seat the audience. We were so impressed! Not only that, these are talented singers, dancers, and actors. You will enjoy both shows and it won't break your budget.

“Wonderful fun, must see when in town.”
Reviewed 9 July 2011

We had never heard of the place. While eating our dinner some of the performers came in singing, playing the guitar. Their song had us convinced to go to the play. What a good time we had. Lots of laughs good entertainment for the whole family.

“Very high entertaining value for the family”
Reviewed 5 July 2011

In the summertime, Yellowstone has many vicious mosquitos hounding the visitors, and I definitely can suggest evenings to be spent at the Pinecone Playhouse.

We (2 adults, 2 grandparents, and 3 children under 14) saw both the Drowsy Chaperone and Chaps. Drowsy Chaperone has a real storyline, set in the 1920s, about a group of people scheming to prevent a wedding from happening. Chaps is basically a string of country songs. The setting is in a BBC studio during World War II. A group of American cowboys failed to show up at the studio, and the studio crew had to step up to the plate and run a radio broadcast.

Not recommended for young children. Our 8 year-old was entertained after extensive explanation of the background information.

The tickets were $14/adults. Children 13-and-under get in for free with a paying adult; otherwise, their ticket costs $11. We thought that was a very reasonable value. The acting and singing were good.
