“Nice accomodations in a great area”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Just returned from a week on my sister and brother-in-law's exchange timeshare plan. The four of us had a two-bedroom - second floor unit with a lovely view of the grounds and golf course. The place was very clean and came stocked with all the kitchen cleaning products needed. We headed off to Yellowstone Park or the Tetons every day and it was so nice to return to here for dinner. The barbecues were very useful.

The grounds were lovely and well-cared for - I kept wishing that wildlife would pass beneath our balcony - LOL. The furnishings fit the ambience - a bit rustic and woodsy - it all added to an experience. We carry our own Wi-Fi and had no problem with the cell reception.

All in all - for my husband and myself - it was a perfect setting for first-time visitors to the area. I know my sister and brother-in-law were very pleased with the timeshare exchange - they are experienced Yellowstone trekkers (nature photographers) and felt this place and location was great.

We stayed with two granddaughters on an exchange. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff is freindly and very accommodating. The pool is small and often overcrowded. Sauna is nice and the activities they have, especially for kids, are great. Didn't use the golf course but it appears to be a nice course.

Had upper 2 BR unit the week of Nov. 2 through Nov. 9 2013. Clean, well stocked and enjoyed our interactions with the extremely pleasant staff. Decor fit the Idaho setting. It snowed almost every day, but the grounds crew did a great job keeping our drive clear. The wet area was exceptional as the hot tub was kept close to the 104 degree mark. Loved the local grill that is located inside the gas station at the entrance to Island Park Resort. Got food there on three occasions, always service with a smile. Do plan to return there in the spring.

Had an upper 2 BR unit: quiet, quaintly decorated (nature theme) and spacious. fully stocked, nice balcony and fireplace - good view of landscape. Rec Center was OK but pool busy most of the time. Suggest buildings that have three units (two lower and one upper) and away from highway. Good place for families but just as nice for those that are looking for a quiet place to spend quality time with loved one.

Room Tip: yellowstone is about 25 m. away, but nice places to hike nearby; did not eat at restaurant. not many...

We had a great time staying here while we spent some time in Yellowstone and some just enjoying the Island Park area. It's a quiet well located community. Great for family's. It has a playground that my kids loved as well as a pool. The kiddie pool was a hit with the little one and the other kids liked the bigger pool because it had a ledge at three feet deep around the entire perimeter. The staff was very nice and friendly. The store just outside the gate had everything we needed at decent prices. We would stay here again for sure.

We stayed at this resort in anticipation of using it as a base of operations to visit Yellowstone Natl Park. We were not disappointed. It is an easy drive of about twenty or so miles to the town of West Yellowstone where one of the park entrances can be found. This is a fairly remote place and the availability of groceries and other amenities are far between. A car or other transportation is a requirement. The resort does have a pool, golf course and tennis courts onsite. A convenience store with some groceries is close by. A saloon and live entertainment is next door. For outdoors enthusiasts, there are great trout fishing spots like Lake Henry, water sports, and, hiking opportunities nearby. Site seeing outside the park abounds. We enjoyed Mesa Falls and the Quake Lake. The resort does NOT have air conditioning so be aware of this when planning a trip. The windows did operate as did the sliding door. Window Fans are provided and temperatures were moderate while we visited in late August. Beds were comfortable. Condos were basic but roomy and well equipped. We had a two bedroom unit with a gas fireplace which we did not use. Staff was friendly and always willing to serve.

We loved this place...didn't quite know what to expect, but we were there for a week and it grew on us more every day. Have seen reviews re:'dated" and were concerned...that is part of the charm. New carpet, new paint, great upper unit balcony view...so what if it has a Davy Crocket era lampshade and a sculpture of bears on the wall...you are in the country.

Just 20 minutes to Yellowstone Park. Island Park Village claims the longest main street in the US - 33 miles long! Thirty two and a half miles of pines and fields and about a half dozen gas stations (each sells groceries). We saved a bunch of money on dining out by using the fully stocked kitchen..we had breakfast there (all the appliances you need) and packed picnic lunches every day - as there are lots of places in the Park to enjoy the view and eat a picnic lunch - but very few places to buy lunch....grocery store inside the nearby gas station down the road (walkable and fairly reasonable prices - meat / vegetables)) Nearest grocery store (2) is in West Yellowstone (20 minutes). You pass through it to get into the Park so stop and shop on the way out of town.

2 adults and a teen - We don't golf- but a beautiful course right through the resort...greens fees very reasonable it seems. Also a disc golf course for Frisbee fans. Saw the resident antelope on the 6th hole.

Very friendly and helpful staff.

Lots of paved parking next to the cabins (two stories - upper and lower). Easy walk to clubhouse for large indoor heated pool (lockers and towels provided) and 3 hot tubs - very nice after a day of trekking through Yellowstone Park.

Very quiet. Perfect for us. 80 degrees all week with clouds, so weather was nice...loved the sign in the room regarding checking out- "If the temperature outside is lower than 20 degrees BELOW zero - please leave water running in the sinks."

Summer visit was just fine thank you...and we even got to go to a great little hometown rodeo with local cowboys/girls bucking broncs/barrel racing/calf roping - temp drops to upper 30's after dark - so carry jackets if you stay out late.

Room Tip: We loved the upper cabin with balcony - recommend.
