“Great place for snowmobiling”
Reviewed 4 January 2012

We stayed here last month (12/2011) for our anniversary. We had an amazingly fun time. This place also runs a snowmobiling rental business. The equipment was surprisingly good. I heard that they had full gear, but I was skeptical. They really do. We were worried about it looking ok and stuff, but they had lots of gear including snowpants, very high quality gloves and boots, jackets, and some nice motorcycle helmets. The snowmobiles we were using were brand new Polaris ones and they also had a two person one that was awesome for a romantic ride to Big Springs (a must see).

We stayed in the hotel (I guess technically a motel), but we had friends that were there who were staying in the condos, so we got a taste of both. The condos are nicer and newer. They have a full kitchen, living room, half bath on main floor, private master downstairs w/ full bath and washer/dryer, and two big beds in a loft upstairs (queen, I think). These units would be perfect for a family. We had a lot of fun hanging out with our friends in the nice new hot tub.

Our room in the other building was quaint. It wasn't the nicest room ever, but it was private and romantic enough. It had a mini fridge, which wasn't working, but I can't count that against them because when I mentioned it to the staff, they gave me a key to the room next door until they had a chance to fix it so I could refrigerate the bottle of bubbly I brought. I received a call later that they had fixed it and moved the bottle over for me.

They have wireless internet, but we didn't use it much.

Honestly, one of the best things about our trip was that the staff was very helpful and accommodating. We would really enjoy going back.

Room Tip: I heard that some of the hotel units are remodeled. With the condos, you can't go wrong, they we...

This place pleasantly surprised us. We needed a place to just crash for the night on our way home for Christmas vacation and it was awesome. It was halfway between our parents' homes and ours, it allowed pets and it was under $100. I was a little leery at first seeing all the bad reviews, but seriously ignore them all!

We arrived at 8:00pm and although the office was closed we were still able to get into our room. They left the keys to our room in the drop box and the front desk manager called and told us where they were. When we did arrive, one other guest said that the water was off and when we checked ours it was off as well. As we left the room to go to our car for the luggage, we locked ourselves out. We called the emergency phone number and they came within 10 minutes to get us an extra key and turn on the water. The lady said that when it gets really cold (it was -20 that night) the system basically shuts off randomly. She had already arranged for a professional to repair it in the morning, but they did get it back on within half an hour.

It was very clean and cute. The bed was firm but not uncomfortable. We were fearing something much worse and we were so happy to see that it was nothing scary at all. The location is also great. Right off the highway and signs everywhere. We were worried it would be hard to find, but it wasn't at all. We were not irritated at all that there wasn't anyone at the front desk. Like I said, we just needed a place to crash. If you needed a place to hang out and relax, it might not be the best place simply because the office closes at 6:00pm and doesn't open until 8:00am. We left early and just left the keys in the box. It didn't bother us, but I can see how others would be annoyed that there isn't anyone around after 6pm.

We will definitely be staying there again when we are headed home to our parents' homes. It had everything we needed! We recommend this for sure!

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor. It was a great room! I didn't see any of the others.

We had problems finding an economical option close to Yellowstone and happened on the Sawtelle not far from West Yellowstone. Nothing fancy but clean and fit my wife's and my needs just fine for 3 days. About 19 miles drive to the West entrance of the park so not a big deal. Staff was nice and helpful and I didn't mind making coffee in the Main Lobby one morning when they were busy. They do have free Wifi but our room was out of range so I went down to the spacious lobby to log in in mornings.

All in all a nice senic place to stay without alot frills.... we didnt need anyway.

Stayed here for four nights for a funeral. Staff was very accomodating. Condo was very nice and new. Very spacious. We used our rooms personal hot tub every day. The beds are very comfortable, I even pulled back the sheets to see the brand of bed so I could look into purchasing one later. Check in and check out is very easy. Great location close to golf course and West yellowstone.

Clean rooms, friendly staff and good location. It was nice to be able to stay so close to Yellowstone (20-25 minutes drive) without the prices of staying in West Yellowstone. Stopped through Island Park earlier in the year and knew it was close enough to stay and travel back and forth. Found the listing online and the prices were excellent for it still being the "In Season" time at Yellowstone.
The rooms are nice and clean. Nothing too spacious but has enough space for 4 people and our dog. The spa was not working but it is ok because we didn't spend much time at the hotel anyway.
EASY access to Highway 20 and plenty of parking space. Great for traveling with an RV or trailer.

We are mid-way through our 6 day stay and have found nothing wrong with the place. Staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Room is basic but very clean. Beds are comfy. Cleaned well every day. Free wi-fi, coffee making and microwave. Only thing missing out of the room was a table, but this wasn't a problem. Convenient, 25-30mins from Yellowstone. Good value for money, would stay here again.
Ps) best to ask at reception on how lock your door when leaving your room, it's easy when you know how!!

Our Sawtelle condo for 6 people was new and spacious--but also had long black hairs on two of the three beds, and on the glasses in the cupboard. I mentioned it to the desk clerk who wasn't impressed or apologetic. Also, be warned that the address on the confirmation email is incorrect, we were initially several miles off due to google mapping 4133 Lodge Pole from the email and not Quakie Ln. Also need to bring more blankets--a thin comforter doesn't do it for cold Yellowstone nights, and there's no one around to answer questions in the evening. No mattress pads on beds either, which was odd. Heater was so loud it disturbed our sleep. Chlorine in the hot tub so strong kids were crying. But nice proximity to Yellowstone and beautiful surroundings.
