We were tipped off about this place by a friend. The main attraction was the indoor water theme park, and I found that if you stayed at the resort the water park was free. For us, this meant $50 for each of the 4 of us. We had an incredible time, and the rooms were much nicer than I could have anticipated.

No, dual queen beds were not an option, but the sofa sleeper paired with the King bed did the job. The king bed was VERY comfortable, but I think the sleeper sofa wasn't quite as comfy. No, there was no wifi in the rooms, and I was glad. Gave reason to keep unplugged and enjoy my family. When necessary, I went to the lobby to use the wifi, which worked fine.

We did call up for some more wash clothes and towels, and we had to call twice because they brought towels and hand towels.

Our room was clean and nicely decorated. but no wifi. The hotel information book stated the cafe on the grounds had wifi, but after paying for my very overpriced food there I found out that no, they don't have wifi and haven't for years and have no plans to get it. Thanks. Then guests are nickel and dimed for services that should be included for the extremely expensive price, such as paying for smores materials at the nightly campfire. The so-called full kitchen lacks salt & pepper, a cutting board and juice pitcher, that is what I've noticed so far. A family suite that sleeps 4 comes with a nice big bed and then a sofa sleeper, so we had to get a roll-away bed for the 2nd child. Today we'll pay for a gondola ride up the mountain, shouldn't that be included with a $300+ per night room? The kids say the water park is cool, but do I really want to be in an indoor waterpark on a beautiful summer day? What I'd like is an outdoor pool but there is not one. Darn.

We stayed over the 4th of July weekend with our two dogs in one of the one-bedroom suites. This was my third time staying, and it's always a pleasure to come back. Yes, only building A has Wi-Fi, but all other rooms have free wired internet (which is much faster). Just make sure to bring your own network cable (since the ones that are provided by the front desk are very short). Otherwise the condo had everything needed (and more), the location is great: Next to the Silver Mountain gondola for great hikes on the mountain, next to the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes for great biking, skating or walking, and next to the indoor waterpark (which we didn't use). The staff is very friendly, the rooms are very clean and although it's not cheap, you get what you pay for. We will definitely stay here again next time.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the plazas or hot tub (BBQ) areas in building C and D. We stayed on the...

The hotel itself is clean, rooms are nice, etc. However, the basic amenities found in less expensive hotels are lacking. The are several individual buildings with rooming. Wifi is not available in those buildings at all. When sleeping four people, rooms with two queen beds are not available. The rooms come with one king bed and a sofa bed. A complimentary breakfast of any sort is not available. Upon inquiry, the response was that a cafe is on the grounds and a complimentary breakfast is not available "since all units come with a kitchenette, the expectation is that guests would eat in their room". Yep, those exact words. Bottom line: bring your own food - something you can make in a toaster or microwave - or be prepared to pay handsomely for every meal. At the waterpark, the food comes from a mall food-court type counter where a slice of pizza costs $5 and a smoothie is $15 (no, that's not typo!).

Overall, it seems that this hotel depends on the unique amenities of the waterpark and outdoor games such as tennis and basketball to make up for the lack of common and basic amenities. But for the price, I expected the whole package.

Here's the deal people, this place is WAAAY over priced and there is NO wifi. So let's just start there. Yes, there is no wifi in the hotel. You're not on mars, your in Idaho and they have wifi in Idaho.

If money is absolutely no concern to you and you don't need internet access, then this place is perfect for you. You will overpay for a nice room in a very convenient location and read your non-e-book all day.

To be fair, the rooms are very well done and comfortable and everything works and the kitchens are fully stocked. You can BRING a router with you and plug it in and that will work for one or two people to be online, but that's it.

So what you SHOULD do, is rent a two bedroom condo about five blocks away for one third the price and most of those have Wifi :)

We stayed here with our 2 children over spring break and it was fantastic. We had the room with the gourmet kitchen and it was stocked with everything you need. This room also had a washer and dryer which was great for the wet ski wear and swim wear. The waterpark that is at the hotel is super fun. It has something for everyone. There are 3 big waterslides, the surfing area, lazy river and hot tubs that range in different water temps. There is one that is warm but not hot for the whole family to enjoy and then there are 2 more that are hotter for older kids and adults. There is a lot more to the waterpark other than what I have mentioned. The hotel also has fire places scattered through out the grounds for roasting marshmallows. We brought hot dogs and marshmallows and had dinner outside at the fire one night. This place is definitely worth it!!!!! I would stay at least 2 nights, one is just not enough.

While I will list some negatives I still rate it very good because most of them are out of the resorts hands.

We Stayed one night at the the Silver Mountain Morning Star Lodge. We swam, ate, slept, skied, swam, left. Our studio apartment was very modern, clean and comfortable. Noahs resturant was good and the ski hill was great. The water park was clean as well. We ski all over the northwest and I will say the employees at the hotel and ski resort are not as freindly as you find at other ski resorts (exception being the front desk clerks they were great). If the city of Kellogg chooses to stay a backwoods dump the water park needs to stay open longer than 8pm. There is nothing to do in Kellogg except to drive around and look at abandoned storefronts, and a car dealership that is swallowing up the town. The one good thing is that many locals are kept from the water park because you must be staying at the hotel or hold a season pass to the ski mountain to get in. Since the passes cost more than most houses (only $269) in Kellogg it keeps the place somewhat decent. But do not fret there is no shortage of 300lb people sporting skimpy swimsuits with hidious tattoos, thus not totally denying you the N. Idaho experiance.
