“No Better Way to Spend the Afternoon”
Reviewed 3 May 2011

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at the McCall Pottery Center. The staff was amazing and patient as we learned the art of the "wheel."

Thank you so very much!

“Great activity for kids and adults alike!”
Reviewed 23 April 2011

We took four 9 year olds there to experience pottery first hand as a birthday activity, and they all loved it. They were shown how to work with clay and built various objects on the wheel. Each got to experience their own version of creativity at their own pace. Owner and instructor were very supportive; provided individualized help. They will fire the and glaze the projects, to be picked up later. I plan to return for adult fun another time! Check out their punch cards for an economical way to experience this in more detail.

“One of the best experiences our family has had.”
Reviewed 9 April 2011

We came to McCall Idaho for spring break 2011. After checking on Trip Advisor we were very excited to take a lesson at McCall Pottery. We did call to make a reservation since there are 5 of us but Mike mentioned that he did have 8 people walk in the day before and he happen to have an opening. In any case I would make an appointment.
From the start we realized that the environment was very encouraging and welcoming. Mike was our teacher that day and he was so patient and helpful. I have older teenage children (2boys and 1 girl) and he helped them learn how to throw clay on the wheel and to make a pot. While we were told we might not make something that is worth firing we had three chances with three chunks of clay to make something. He worked with each individual to instruct us on how we could do better.
We all came home with 2 pots each. We noticed the pots from the day before and they must have had younger children because there were some creative pots. In that case they still all will get a pot.
It does take at least 2 weeks for them to trim, dry and glaze the pot so in our case they will have to mail the pots to us since we live about 9 hours away.
My entire family can not stop talking about this experience. We would definitely go back the next time we are in McCall.

“great family activity”
Reviewed 22 February 2011

Our family stayed in McCall for several days before Christmas 2010. Not all of us are skiers, so we were looking for activities to do as a family (young teens and tweens, all girls). We saw Trip Advisor reviews for the McCall Pottery Center and decided to drop in and check it out. Cindy was there and gave us a friendly welcome and showed us around, and we scheduled a two-hour class for the following day. Most of us had never thrown pottey before, so it was a fun, new thing to learn. Cindy was really helpful in showing us the steps and helping the younger ones with their work. For two hours of instruction, clay, wheel time, and post throw firing, it was a great value for the price and added to the good memories of the trip.

“Valentines night was just perfect!”
Reviewed 17 February 2011

We (my fiance and our friends) had the pleasure of spending Valentines evening at McCall Pottery Center. When we arrived we were greeted with lovely music dimmed lights and flickering candles. What an amazing atmosphere. We first sat down to fruit and chocolate fondue as well as an amazing dessert and campaign served on dishes created by Cindy. (we got to take those home at the end of the night!!) After we were completely stuffed, the lights came on and the mud came out. Mike and Cindy spent their time with great patience teaching us the basics of throwing pottery. We laughed and had an amazing time. We are all so excited to return as soon as possible.
