We just finished a 3-day trip in early July. Normally at this time of year it is common to book a two day due to the river still flowing at a good rate. We chose instead to take a "layover day" on our second day. This was the best decision ever! After a fun first day on the upper section, including a hike to a hot spring on the side of a mountain, the second day was officially "chill time". Bocce Ball, kayaking, morning yoga on the beach, SUP'ing, hiking, playing the "trust" game on the rafts, turning one raft into a water slide, and sipping cold beverages in the river while enjoying the perfect Idaho weather!
Day three was filled with the best rapids of the trip, and having the inflatable kayaks to trade off in kept all of the thrill seekers in our group satisfied. We had 20 of us in our group, ranging in age from 16 to 58 and everyone had a blast.
The food was outstanding. The guides were knowledgable, professional and fun. Stephanie even let me take the oars for awhile!
One last very important point. As we were taking out on the third day we got to experience firsthand the difference between Salmon Raft and some of the other outfitters, as we shared the ramp. It is obvious that Salmon Raft has positioned themselves as a company that caters to those who want a true wild river experience and not just a booze cruise. It seems like some of the other outfitters are more interested in cramming people into the boats and it becomes just a production. I can't give a higher recommendation for Salmon Raft!!
