We first stopped at the Best Western in Orofino. Got a poor reception by the front desk, in fact they wouldn't even talk to us. Got mad and went up the valley to Konkoville Motel. Best deal ever, 1/3 of the price of Best Western, Joseph the owner was very nice to us, showed us to our room, offers a Mon to Sat steak BBQ, (which we missed as it was Sunday), but he was so nice to us, I would give it 5 stars. Has Refer, mirco, serves breakfast in morning, nice pool and hot tub.

Only issue is you have to ride to eat dinner, but take advantage of the steak BBQ and you are all set. Would recommend it highly!

Room Tip: We got a double queen room, they are all good. Very big rooms, not the tiny Best Western rooms.

Never heard of this place until a co-worker told me about it. We were going to be traveling in the area so I thought we would try it. We like the home town feel and not being on a major road. I think people must be blown away by the dinner or the cheap price to have such high reviews though (We did visited on a Sunday and they don't do the dinner that day). My husband liked the history of the place and the laid back atmosphere. The owner's sense of humor was a great way to start our visit.
We had a ground floor room across from the office. I must say that the room AC worked great! It must have been 95 degrees out that day and our large room was decidedly cool. Everything worked well but it certainly wasn't a "remodeled" room. Pluses: It had a refrigerator and a microwave and we got the wireless internet fine. There was a large counter with one sink outside the bathroom and a small sink in the bathroom, which was nice for two people getting ready in the morning. It was a large, open, clean room. The breakfast was nothing fancy but it was free and filled your tummy. Minuses: The TV was an old small tube not even flat screen but the reception was terrible, so I would guess no one cares how good the TV was. The floor plan was a bit strange, like the separate room where the sink and refrigerator were was maybe a kitchen at one time but now it was part open closet and all counter. There wasn't a lot of places for our luggage except the floor and an area next to the TV that was barely big enough for our two computer cases. There was no luggage rack so I used a chair. The beds were ok but as is typical for an older motel the sounds travel and a very heavy footed individual was upstairs, needless to say I didn't sleep very well or long that night.

Room Tip: Stay upstairs unless you want to stay awake all night.

My wife and I and another Patriot Guard Rider stayed here when we had a burial mission in Kooskia,ID. Although older, it has been completely re-done on the inside, new beds, the whole 9 yards. We took advantage of the cook your own New York Strip dinner for around $13 and it was the best steak I've had in a long time. You couldn't beat the $55 room rate too! Had rags in the room for motorcycle cleaning if you want. I am planning a return visit with my son, a Navy Pilot, when he comes out for vacation, and do another MC Trip up Old Idaho Rte 7, to Hwy 3, then back to the lake (Flathead). You have to stay here if you find yourself in the Orofino area.

I've stayed at the Konkolville Motel many times on my frequent motorcycle trips to or through Orofino. Joe and Sherry, the owners, have done a marvelous job since they took over this place a few years ago, The rooms, grounds, and pool are spotlessly clean. The rooms are large and inexpensive. You can get a great room and a excellent steak dinner for the price of an average room elsewhere. This is an unbelievable value for such a nice place. I can't wait to go back.

We based our wishes to stay at the Konkolville motel on past reviews and they exceeded our expctations. Our room was impecably clean and everything was easy to reach at the motel. The owners.mgr. was constantly available to answer questions and provide assistance. The excetionally good steak dinner (you grill to your choice) was a pleasant surprise. The price was right and the quality exceeded our expectations also. The hot breakfast surpassed any we have experienced and it too is recommended. It's located in a historical area with many interesting things to see and visit. You will not find a better place to stay for your dollar, bar none. Rollie and Alice Pywell

Room Tip: We saw several deer near and on the motel property, neat.

A quaint, solid family-owned motel just a tad north of town. The wife was supremely friendly, and I got a solid room. There's complimentary breakfast and wireless. My sleep quality was a bit low because I was next to a staircase, and could hear the people walking up through my wall and along the walkway above.

We loved this place. Our room was large and comfortable. Both room and grounds were immaculate. We especially loved
our bed--haven't had such a good night's sleep in a motel for some time.

The "cook your own steak" dinner was fabulous, one of the best cuts of meat we've ever had.

Located in a beautiful setting the Konkolville Motel is a real value!

Room Tip: We stayed upstairs in room 256!
