“Perfect Honeymoon in Dream Home”
Reviewed 29 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

My husband and me spent 3 weeks at Ravenala house for our honeymoon and it was the absolutely perfect place, we could not have been happier. The property is amazing, wonderful location overlooking Admiralty Bay amidst a carefully tended tropical garden with a extremely comfortable and tasteful Plantation Style interior.
Anne and Tim, the owners are a lovely couple who made our stay extra special. We were met at the airport by them and they prepared a lovely dinner for us on our first night (upon our request, you do not have to if you prefer to be on your own) which we very much enjoyed and got to know each other. It is good for first timers on the island to get an overview and ask a few questions about the house and the local custom. Tim gave us a big tour of the island on our first day in order to get us acquainted with the 4x4 car we rented together with the house and to show us all the wonderful areas, bars, restaurants on the island. We were introduced to recommended specialty supermarket owner Doris and Green Grocer "Blackie" who supplied us with all we needed at a 10% discount.

We spent most of our time on the big roofed terrace with the splendid view, making good use of the big dining table there for all our meals and of the big binoculars in order to find out the names and specifics of the beautiful sail boats that came and went into the bay every other day. It was wonderful to wake up in the morning and peak out of the window to find out which sail boat arrived or left over night. Simply beautiful. The house is fully screened with mosquito nets and also the bed is covered with a mosquito net which is definitely a good thing. So we had wonderful unpestered nights even without spraying any poison around which we do not enjoy very uch. Sprays were provided though if you prefer. We rather made use of the provided Zappers, electrical tennis rackets which give you a lot of satisfaction when mossie hunting. There were plenty of Mosquitos about I have to say, we were bitten about 50 times in the three weeks, that is saying we almost never sprayed ourselves. If you do, they stay away. However we had no ill effects and they even itch way less then at home, so it definitely did not dampen our expereince in Bequia. The only other pets were lovely little lizards who feast on the Mozzies so they are your friends, they are not shy and will have some banana if you feed them out of your hand even, I adored them, they are comical.
The Pool is amazing and is very well looked after, clean and pristine and refreshing, not too warm, just perfect and the view from the pool is out of this world.
I love to cook and my husband loves to BBQ, therefore we made extra good use of all the kitchen appliances which are great, Le Creusier Pots even, I love that, and the BBQ.
The island has plenty of restaurants and bars too and Anne and Tim point out the best to you.
The house was absolutely perfect for us and we cannot wait to go back. The big plus is the loving welcome and wonderful service by the owners to whom you can have as much or as little contact as you wish, the property is completely secluded, the pool not at all overlooked and the gardeners are extremely discreet and respect the privacy of the guests. You can arrange house service as much or as little as you like, it is all extremely comfortable and tailor made to every guests wishes.
Freshly baked bread can be had by Tim who loves to bake and try to get some local Honey from John which is exotic and completely natural.
We could not have been happier with our choice of honeymoon location and very much recommend Bequia and Ravenala house.
The ocean had 30 degrees the weather was constantly sunny and warm with a nice breeze, the only rain was during the night for 10 minutes max or at a distance which gave you a beautiful rainbow over the Bay. The credo at Ravenala is ask and you will be given, completely unobtrusive, 5 star service in a 5 star villa.
Pictures on the homepages are not accurate, it is more beautiful in reality.

Thank you Anne and Tim for making our vacation special, see you soon.

“Unbelievable Stay”

The Ravenala House is everything that my husband and I could have wanted in a vacation rental! This was our first stay in Bequia and Jal, the resident caretaker while the owners are out of town, looked after us wonderfully. We were shown around the island twice, given a phone for concierge-like service, received a delicious welcome meal, and offered trip planning during our stay. The views are amazing (even more beautiful than the pictures) and were absolutely our favorite part of the entire trip. The accommodations were extremely comfortable and more than sufficient for our needs. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat while taking in the amazing views. I would not hesitate for a second to return to Bequia and would just have to stay again at the Ravenala House.

“Skip the hotels, you must stay here! Amazing house with wonderful staff”

My husband and I rented this house with two other couples with the intent of sailing the Grenadines for part of our time. When we arrived at the house, we were so awestruck at the beauty and view, we started to seriously discuss cutting short some of our sailing time so we could enjoy the house even more!

Each bedroom is beautifully done--with comfort and attention to detail that is second to none. The Ginger Cottage is separate from the house and equally wonderful.

Anne the owner arranged all our transport in Saint Vincent and Bequia--and Jal her assistant was friendly, professional, and always available to help in a pinch. We were so impressed with how wonderful everything was!

I can't recommend this house highly enough for a stay in Bequia--from the view, to the management, to the comfort, to the attention to detail....everything was perfect. We didn't want to leave! Absolutely one of the best vacations we've ever been on---much because of our time spent at the Ravenala House. THANK YOU!!!

“What a great Vacation location”

Let me start by saying I write this with some hesitation......knowing we may be letting others in on our newest Bequia secret, Ravenala. Great location....Villa.....Staff, (especially Jal !!) and a very nice welcome from the owner, Tim. Overlooking Admirality Bay is breathtaking, with all the constant movements of ferry's, sailboats and swimmers, and the views of the beaches......never a dull moment just watching the daily goings on. Tim was a great welcoming committee, from grabbing us up from the airport, then a quick a tour of the villa making some good conversation, ending with Tim baking us a homemade pizza, with dessert. It was a great way to begin to decompress after a long day of travel. For the next 2 weeks we were treated like old friends by Jal, (Tims assistant) who was attentive to all of our questions or needs. Being close, but still seemingly far away from Lower Bay was a real extra for us. Being able to walk down to visit Dawns for breakfast, Keegans, La Plage, De Reef and Mango Bar for lunch, supper or just drinks worked really great for us. The villa worked perfectly whether you wanted sun or shade, with large spaces to spread out into. Even the pool was designed to be interesting, day or night. From the deck/patio we were able to watch the Full Moon rise over the top of Bequia. Within days Millie, the owners dog, adopted us, and helped us deal with missing our own dogs. A Great Location......A Great Vacation, and ALL the bases were covered,(even dog withdrawl ?) by Tim, Ann, Millie and ESPECIALLY, Jal, Thank You !!!!

“Perfect place to get away and relax, climate hot but lovely breeze”
Reviewed 2 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Ravenala has the most beautiful views, the beaches were nearly deserted all over Bequia . We were looked after so well , meal cooked for us the first night , so we could chat about the island and settle in. New bread baked by the owners when needed, a car to get us to where we wanted to go. Infinity swimming pool, rooms very comfortable, with every appliance one could wish for. Anne and Tim were perfect hosts

Ravenala allowed our family to escape to an enchanting experience unlike any other time we have vacationed whether it be Bequia or anywhere else. The fantastic and well designed layout of the property was only one part of the equation-- what transcended the norm to make this magical was the hospitality and effort show by Tim and Anne. They were totally attentive to our wants, in short nothing was overlooked. I feel in my heart that we became friends with the Parsons and look forward to seeing them next year.

“Bequia and Ravenala House-" Sublime Beauty"”
Reviewed 7 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

My husband ,our great friends and myself travelled from the Great White Frozen North of Ontario Canada to Bequia this February to escape the frigid temperatures of our Canadian winter, we choose the beautiful island of Bequia. We picked the right place and villa to come to. It was just was we needed to warm our souls. Ravenala house was our first choice because of the location on the hillside and sublime beauty of the home , cottage and gardens. It is even more beautiful in real life. As many have already said the views are stunning. One of the most beautiful stone pools. The gardens are well kept and lush, its very quiet with only the sounds of nature. The breeze is always perfect , especially in the evening. Tim and Ann are simply lovely! They made us feel welcome and at home. They are the perfect hosts attending to your every need. We had an enjoyable evening with them at Dawns for drinks and dinner. In fact we met so many beautiful friendly people on this trip. It was a treat for us to be able to walk down the lane way of the villa to one of the most beautiful beaches- Lower Bay, only a handful of people, with the most luscious sand and clear blue waters……ahhhhh…. I miss it already and its only been a week. Everything in the house was great, comfortable beds, linens, outdoor dining room to die for and lounge area with beautiful furniture. My husband and I stayed in the Ginger Cottage , we loved having coffee on our deck each morning as the sun was coming up. It was also the perfect spot for daily yoga. Great restaurants and beach bars are in the village, where you will meet such friendly welcoming people! There were so many special moments to our trip, here are a few, dinner at Fernandos Hideaway ( Lower Bay) sailing trip to the Tobago Cays/Saltwhistle Bay, Live Music friday night at Coco's, shopping at the local markets and trying the local rum punches, and of course relaxing, chilling and liming on Ravenala's porches/pool. This is a very special place , we feel so fortunate to have stayed here, one of a kind……..Sublime! Cheers from Debbie and Steve Prosser, Stayner, Ontarion, Canada ( we will return one day for sure!)
