Stayed at the Blue Heron three nights while on business in Idaho Falls. My commute into Idaho Falls was twenty miles each way, but traffic was minimal and I felt the Blue Heron's location relative to Idaho Falls was serviceable. Never visited Rigby so cannot speak to restaurants etc. there.
The Blue Heron is an attractive property on the Snake river. Some reviewers report it hard-to-find. I had no problem, using the directions on the web page. It is located within sight of the highway, but I experienced little road noise. While I did not come to fish, its apparent that the Blue Heron offers good bank fishing, and I saw several boats drifting the river.
I had a small room with views of the river out two windows. If my wife had been traveling with me, the bed would have been cramped. The room was clean, everything worked well, including the Wi-Fi.
The common spaces are very attractive, with a great room that draws one out of their sleeping room. The theater room was appreciated, along with their thoughtful selection of movies.
There were some service oddities, e.g. unclear check-in procedure. It left me wondering as to some details. However, all worked out in the end.
Breakfast was fine, and my request for an early breakfast accommodated. Soft drinks, hot drinks, popcorn were always available.More
