Stopped by for lunch and we were delighted.
Physical Plant: The restaurant is in Sandpoint Idaho, which is a quaint town on Lake Pend Oreille. The restaurant s attached to the Best Western Hotel which had direct aces to the City Beach and park. The parking is easy and free. The lake views from the patio deck are amazing.
Service: We arrived at about noon to find the place packed...Yes packed! So we felt this must be a good choice for lunch. We walked around town for about an hour and a half and returned for a bite to eat. The host recognized us from our "scouting" visit and we were immediately seated on the patio, as requested. Our server arrived and quickly took our order. She helped us with determining our order, which was spot on! We both had the turkey, avocado and New Mexico chili sandwich. I ordered the salad with a red pepper vinaigrette, which was just ridiculously tasty! The wheat bread was lightly toasted, so as to add a little firmness to it, but still moist. We will return just to have these sandwiches again! We observed the food being served to other patrons and, without actually tasting it, I would say it was all scrumptious, as the other folks were silently munching away!
If there was one negative, it was that the server never came back to check on us and we ran dry on our water. It is very small, however, having served, the #1 rule for servers is keep the patrons "watered". We actually had to ask a bus-boy for more water.
There are quite a few eateries in Sandpoint, some with lake views. All have good food, however, if you are passing through and only have one shot at eating, I would strongly suggest stopping here. Did I mention that the IPA my wife chose was only $3.75 and outstanding.
